So a new guy shows up to one of our public meetings yesterday, after maybe 20 minutes calls someone who he disagrees with a “zog bot”

I tell him not to call people that, bc “zog” originates in neo-nazism and anti-jewish conspiracy theories, say we can talk more after the meeting if need be

He slams his fists on the table and yells “ok zog bot” throws papers on the ground and storms out yelling “no god damn free speech! Zogs got em, zogs got em!”

freeze-peach

Thanks for leaving loser bye

The proliferation of the term “zog” is absurd to me. Used to be only Turner-Diaries-types would use it. That’s still the case, but now Turner-Diaries-types seem to be a lot more common.

It feels like americans especially are primed to default to antisemitism when they don’t have the tools to navigate the difference between judaism and zionism. Like the background radiation of pop culture has a lot of antisemitic tropes that young people might latch on to. Not making excuses for the shithead, but I get why.

Yeah, beyond the actual spread of these fascistic ideologies, it’s concerning how a lot of terms and ideas from them get adopted in the mainstream (sometimes in the name of irony, and other times not)

The antisemitism is particularly noticeable, and it’s really uncomfortable seeing how much of it has poisoned the wells of a lot of vaguely left or pro-Palestine discourse online

I’m sympathetic to the idea there’s definitely been an increase in anti-semitism in the past 5 years and the chuds certainly have their codified language that has poisoned the well but it’s genuinely overstated and overdiscussed. Just genuinely tired of the Jewish centrism of the suffering of Palestinians. Jews are always at the center of every debate, Palestinians and their culture and their lives are barely given the limelight. It’s always about either evil Israelis or the minority of embarrassed Jews who have almost hallowed positions within proPalestinian movements. Anti-semitism is now given more attention than any other form of persecution and bigotry. I have to go through almost 3 levels of abstraction to discover that Zionist Occupied Government is a neo-nazi trope.

Actual Nazi behavior to the point of genocide is happening right now at the hands of Zionist. Anything taking us further from that point is a waste of time.

Goes for everyone arguing over the specifics of demographic support (e.g. percentage of Jews worldwide supporting Zionism) when the reality is that it is a white euro settler colonial project and focusing on the demographics of its support serves to absolve non-Jewish white euros of complicity. That is why I get very suspicious of people focusing on the Judaism aspect and not the fact it’s just another colonial apartheid state this time using historic persecution as cover. Take away that aspect and it loses a lot of its sway. It’s white europeans doing white european things.

Yes and no. It’s useless to argue over the demographics of the genocide but Israel has a role in this too especially making the focus of the genocide Judaism and right to exist over Arabs. That cannot be ignored but as long as isrealis are also included in the white Europen colonizers then yes.

Not all white European Jews are Ashkenazi. But the Jewish population of occupied Palestine is about 80-93% European descent. Almost every split between Ashkenazi and Sephardic

Sephardic Jews as Europeans is bit of a stretch: the vast majority came from the MENA region where their families had lived for centuries and in Israel, secular leadership historically viewed them as arabised and too religioug; they have typically lived in worse conditions than Ashkenazi Jews. It’s like the “are Slavs white” question, the answer depends on the context.

But personally I think asking how many Israelis are European is a red herring, Ben-Gvir is a Mizrahi for example and non-Ashkenazi Jews have often been the base for extreme Zionist movements like Kach and Likud. Sephardic and Mizrahi Jews are like gusanos in a way: their “whiteness” comes from their loyalty to Western hegemony.

I envy you. I’ve had the misfortune of hearing far-right weirdos blaming it for everything from declining white birth rates to feminism.

Come to think of it, those weirdos did get a lot of FBI backing. I wouldn’t be entirely surprised to learn that the ZOG conspiracy theory was deliberately fostered to delegitimize anti-Zionism.

also, if jews feel so threatened by graffiti or tropes or even lone wolf attacks, that they go colonize palestine via a Jewish supremacist ethnostate, the way to deal with that consequence is to make it so they’re unable to go to the ethnostate

FD signifier said its not good to use ANY far right lingo (mostly zog and goy in the way neonazis use it) and kavernacle and badempada got onto him and now theyre saying FD supports israel when he very much doesnt? kind of heartbreaking because both FD and kavernacle have good takes.

A lot of us knew after the winds of change for Israel that if was going to make antisemitism worse for people who actually give a fuck and are not just running around using it as a excuse for genoicde.

I do Palestine stuff on Tumblr. It probably doesn’t do anything but idk its some of the few things I can do. And I have to constantly watch and delete casual antisemitism.

The amount of times I’ve had to explain that Israel doesn’t control US politics like people think they do is mind numbing. And I think the Dems are some of the people pushing that rhetorical. Surprise surprise I know

And where does their money come from? AIPAC gets almost all of its funding from billionaire yankees! In fact, I think Mariam Adleson is the only Israel-American that donates to AIPAC in any significant amount. The rest are just crackers born in the US.

And where does Israel money come from? Israel exists because of the ruling class. Israel literally could not exist without the support of the US. Therefore said money comes back to refinance it. The US wants people to think all the bad shit its doing is because of Israel because it provides the chance of them passing the buck.

To say Israel controls the US is just newly dressed up antisemitism. “The Jews control the government”. And such stuff just comes back around to benefiting the US and Israel.

I cannot stress enough how to fall for the trap is playing into the hands of the ruling class.

This is an obtuse take. isreal has their own autonomy in this even if supported and funded by the ruling class, they have their own self interest such as terrorizing any Arab on the land they stole.

Yes and that autonomy supports what the west wants. Things will get very hairy if Israel were to ever actually take over the area and start acting out against the interests of the west.

Its basically a vassal state. Just because it has its own desires doesn’t mean they go against the empire wishes. If the out come is aligned then why would the ruling class care what the dog wants? The problem is when the dog finally bites the hand that feeds it. I will say I think we have seen the start of it.

isreal is an 80 year project where they switch to whoever helps them achieve their goals the best. britan then france now the US. The us has been the perfect ally able to use isreal for all of their middle east interest, technology, and surveillance with israel getting unquestioned autonomy to do whatever it takes to control the middle east. They dont go against the west interest wishes because it’s mostly the same at least when it comes to the middle east, isreal wants greater isreal and to be the leaders of it. But what happens if they get it ?

This distinction matters because even if the west were to abandon isral, whatever that means, isrel has enough monetary, military, and intelligence support to continue and exert power/influence on their own and find the next ally that will support them for their next phase, as they have done historically. In the current climate there is no other greater ally.

sure but the ruling class doesn’t care that much about one congressman. Greater Israel goes against the long-term interests of the empire and puts the pet in conflict with at least one vassal. This round of attacking Iran doesn’t make sense when more patient administrators than trump and biden would have been content to slowly erode iran’s autonomy and understood free transit of the strait was worth a lot even though it doesn’t show up on a ledger.

capital wants to own iran, israel wants to destroy it lost economic opportunity be damned.

I think that is the thing, the ruling class of today is not the ruling class of old. They have been in power for to long that it has made them complacent. They act in the open more now then ever. Most of what has work is not being properly maintained because the newer generation doesn’t understand it. Aka there is a lot of no take only throw mentality.

There are a few things going on that explains Iran. 1. They think they can stop Israel from going scorched earth. The truth be damed. 2. They think the destruction of Iran is fine cause they can build it back up how they see fit.

As far as not being worried about a single congress person, that is what the system is for. Its entire purpose is to find random targets and take them down. That’s AIPACs whole things. And that’s what these PACs are for in general. Its so some rich guy can say to someone “make this happen”. I think that is what is so concerning. They are like various autonomous generals. But all of them have very specific duties. But its very easy for any of them to be forgotten and then self perpetrate itself. Maybe a computer program is a better example.

I saw some of my normie friends using some of those tropes out of nowhere. Most people who don’t engage with politics do not bother to go through the nuances of Zionism vs Judaism, and don’t bother to think about the fact that many Jewish people do not support what Israel is doing. The issue is that the political order in the entire world encourages this type of thinking. If you see what Israel has been able to get away with, or how everyone jumps to condemn any act of antisemitism even the ones that are mistakenly labeled as antiemetic because they are anti-Israel, if you hear the words of the Israeli state itself and the majority of politicians then the easiest conclusion is to fall into some antisemitic conspiracy. It takes education, thinking and engaging with political theory to not fall prey to this. That’s just how fucked up the situation is. The choices of the ruling class made antisemitism the path of least resistance that most normies are easily falling into in different degrees.
