as i understand it, former “the squad” congressman Bowman getting unseated was almost entirely israel lobbying. “control” is vastly overstating it but the colony has some independent interests and does exert influence toward those ends
Those independent interest line up a lot with the ruling class need to destabilize the area.
This is an obtuse take. isreal has their own autonomy in this even if supported and funded by the ruling class, they have their own self interest such as terrorizing any Arab on the land they stole.
Yes and that autonomy supports what the west wants. Things will get very hairy if Israel were to ever actually take over the area and start acting out against the interests of the west.
Its basically a vassal state. Just because it has its own desires doesn’t mean they go against the empire wishes. If the out come is aligned then why would the ruling class care what the dog wants? The problem is when the dog finally bites the hand that feeds it. I will say I think we have seen the start of it.
isreal is an 80 year project where they switch to whoever helps them achieve their goals the best. britan then france now the US. The us has been the perfect ally able to use isreal for all of their middle east interest, technology, and surveillance with israel getting unquestioned autonomy to do whatever it takes to control the middle east. They dont go against the west interest wishes because it’s mostly the same at least when it comes to the middle east, isreal wants greater isreal and to be the leaders of it. But what happens if they get it ?
This distinction matters because even if the west were to abandon isral, whatever that means, isrel has enough monetary, military, and intelligence support to continue and exert power/influence on their own and find the next ally that will support them for their next phase, as they have done historically. In the current climate there is no other greater ally.
Israel is not doing as well as you think it is. Unless it gets help from the next world power it is honestly not going to last very long on its own. There have been several times that Israel would be out of weapons at the rate they were going if it wasnt for shipments from the US. They get some from other places like the UK but nearly to the same extent. Israel has made enemy of everyone in the area and then some, so without the support of the US specifically it will dry up pretty damn fast. This isn’t to say they are not dangerous. They have nukes ffs, but without someone directly funnelling interest, then the rest of the countries would kick them out. Which will probably happen within the next 50 years. Because as it stands the age of oil is coming to a close which is the big reason the project was done in the first place.
To give a direct back door to the governments attached to oil. As these wars within the last 10 years keep making oil more and more expensive it will push people to renewables more and more and then you have China who has a lot of interest to get off oil asap for a laundry list of reasons. As the interest in oil dries up, so to will the interest in keeping Israel maintained.
Like I said they are still very dangerous to the people over there, but that wasn’t even the point to start all of this! Which was the idea that Israel controls the American government. It obviously does not. The ruling class controls America and therefore Israel. To say that Israel controls the government is a new antisemitic talking point that democrats and republicans are pushing because it takes the blame off of them and makes them seem less culpable in the genocide. It benefits America for people to push the idea that it has no control over the genocide.
sure but the ruling class doesn’t care that much about one congressman. Greater Israel goes against the long-term interests of the empire and puts the pet in conflict with at least one vassal. This round of attacking Iran doesn’t make sense when more patient administrators than trump and biden would have been content to slowly erode iran’s autonomy and understood free transit of the strait was worth a lot even though it doesn’t show up on a ledger.

I think that is the thing, the ruling class of today is not the ruling class of old. They have been in power for to long that it has made them complacent. They act in the open more now then ever. Most of what has work is not being properly maintained because the newer generation doesn’t understand it. Aka there is a lot of no take only throw mentality.
There are a few things going on that explains Iran. 1. They think they can stop Israel from going scorched earth. The truth be damed. 2. They think the destruction of Iran is fine cause they can build it back up how they see fit.
As far as not being worried about a single congress person, that is what the system is for. Its entire purpose is to find random targets and take them down. That’s AIPACs whole things. And that’s what these PACs are for in general. Its so some rich guy can say to someone “make this happen”. I think that is what is so concerning. They are like various autonomous generals. But all of them have very specific duties. But its very easy for any of them to be forgotten and then self perpetrate itself. Maybe a computer program is a better example.
