So a new guy shows up to one of our public meetings yesterday, after maybe 20 minutes calls someone who he disagrees with a “zog bot”
I tell him not to call people that, bc “zog” originates in neo-nazism and anti-jewish conspiracy theories, say we can talk more after the meeting if need be
He slams his fists on the table and yells “ok zog bot” throws papers on the ground and storms out yelling “no god damn free speech! Zogs got em, zogs got em!”

Thanks for leaving loser

huh? nine years ago was richard spencer getting punched and charlottesville. before that, smaller-time neonazi events would make the news periodically. 4chan happy merchant shit was all over gamergate. jk rowling’s goblins. aclu getting in trouble for defending nazis.
Nazi sentiment during this time was centered around hatred against other groupsminorities, it wasn’t necessarily Jewish centric in nature. Vast majority of people who were victims of violence during Charlottesville were black.
She’s British
Okay, I was on 4chan ten years ago, and I’m pretty confident the anti-Black racism also featured antisemitic “great replacement” conspiracies. That’s literally what the “Jews will not replace us” sign meant at Charlottesville.
I stopped visiting 4chan about 2 or 3 years before gamergate because even back then it felt as if it was just a nazi site that was beyond salvaging. Antisemitism was already widespread there even back then. I’m talking full on happy merchant and holocaust denial stuff.
They’re both interconnected, yes.
famously no americans read or discussed harry potter
No shit, it’s probably the most popular series of books world over in the past 5 decades?
ok so how much discourse are you willing to pack into “virtually zero” before it stops being virtually zero? her being british matters about as much as great replacement coming from french neonazis.
