    kubrick-stare

    Minute 0

Ben flashes a screen capture of Hasan and then he says that DSA blames everything on capitalism.

    Minute 1

Ben says that Marx ripped off Hegel. He says that Marxism is an ideology rooted in materialism instead of ideas. Ben uses a mocking, condescending tone when speaking during most of the video.

    Minute 2

Ben says that Marx believes that people who support capitalism were brainwashed by public schools. Ben says that Marx described this as “false consciousness”. (False consciousness is not a term that Marx ever used and there is only 1 record instance of Friedrich Engels using it. Also Ben used the term wrong.)

    Minute 3

Ben says that communists want to own the means of production. Ben says this is impossible because surgeons don’t own the people that they do surgery on and Teachers don’t own the students.

    Minute 4

Ben says communism forces you to work job that you don’t want and capitalism let’s you work where ever you want.

    Minute 5

Ben misunderstands what “class war” is and he says that it’s something that DSA wants to do in the future. (Class War is already happening) Ben says that DSA is wrong because anyone can be a stock trader if they want to.

Ben asserts that Labor Theory of Value is a bad idea and doesn’t explain why.

    Minute 6

Ben conflates “price” with “value”. He says price can be whatever people are willing to pay.

    Minute 7

Ben says that surplus labor value doesn’t exist because capitalists spent money to get means of production.

    Minute 8

Ben says that business owner takes all of the risk because capitalist spend moneys on means of production. Ben says that workers only risk losing their job.

    Minute 9

Ben denies the existence of class conflict and insists that all classes benefit from wage labor.

    Minute 10

Ben says DSA wants to dismantle the US government to do communism.

    Minute 11

Ben says that if there are any regulations on rent, then landlords will stop building houses.

    Minute 12

Ben says “horseshoe theory”. He actually says it. Then he starts talking about Tucker Carlson and says that Tucker is exactly like DSA because Tucker has been saying anti-Israel stuff.

    Minute 13

Ben says that Marxists blame the system for their struggles because they don’t take personal responsibility for their failure.

Well done on actually going through it.

Makes me wonder how these people exist whenever I see this stuff, it’s all the exact same drek every time, stuff that Marx himself repeatedly addressed, when it isn’t just something completely made up and unrelated. They surely know that what they’re saying doesn’t actually make sense. They know it works on the hogs, but they must know that they are just lying about what Marx said. They obviously don’t care, but I just can’t imagine living like that, knowing what you’re doing is just serving evil because they give you the crumbs as thanks for perpetuating their evil. Pro-capitalist propagandists like this are genuinely my most despised people in the world, it’s one thing to be a capitalist, to be born into it, and there isn’t really any of them can do to stop the system, they are beholden to its contradictions same as the working class. But working class traitors whose job is to perpetuate capital, to deceive people like this, I can’t imagine a circle of hell deep enough.

Yeah, especially if they think their cause is “just” and they’re allowed to lie to trick people into supporting it as a result. I’ve always tried to follow the truth, even when it has lead to unpleasant places, and that’s why I’m a communist today. I can’t imagine someone whose worldview is knowingly built on lies and they’re fine with that, I wouldn’t be able to live with myself if I was like that.

insists that all classes benefit from wage labor.

one of the carrot dangling lies in this video alone. he never explains those benefits or what proportion each class allegedly gets and whether it’s fair or not

Watching ben read marx so you don’t have to so you don’t have to. Thanks! Although I was foolish enough to think that he would actually be reading marx, not just regurgitating the same shit I can hear from dotards hanging around the nearest gas station.

    • Ben says that communists want to own the means of production. Ben says this is impossible because surgeons don’t own the people that they do surgery on and Teachers don’t own the students

This is so dishonest and stupid. Like seriously, how many surgeons own their own OR, surgery tools and cleaning lab? How many teachers own the textbooks and classrooms?

Like, sure, without people in need of those services, the teacher and surgeon would have nothing meaningful to do with their skill, but that’s true of EVERYTHING.

I’m sure that the right wing response to what I am saying is “Are you triggered?”

“Please don’t read it. Haha. Just trust me you don’t need to read it I got you. No no just don’t get curious, I’m here to tuck you in with affirmations that your worldview I’ve been feeding you is correct. Let me keep thinking for you please.”

    Quick summary (watch at 0.5x)

    • Hegel came up with dialectic as thesis–antithesis–synthesis
    • Marx stole the dialectic from Hegel except in a way that lets him be anticapitalist
    • Society is in a class war between bourgeoisie and proletariat
    • DSA is the premier Marxist organization in the US (:yea:)
    • Workers not owning the product of their labor is like a surgeon demanding to own the artery she repairs, or a teacher owning the knowledge inside a student’s head
    • Some misdirections where Marx’s economic insights are turned into an existentialist search for meaning
    • Communism is good in theory but bad in practice (:it-is-known:)

I stopped watching, maybe finish later. In general he’s saying facts in sPoNgEtExT and hoping you don’t notice that Marx’s ideas are cool actually

I wonder how much Marx he has actually read for this? I don’t enjoy hate watching so I’m not going to be watching it, but I wonder if he does all the typical arguments like “mud pies” and says Marx failed to consider things that even reading page 1 of Capital or the Manifesto would explain.

I jumped to a random spot in the middle and I listened for ~20 seconds. I haven’t heard in his voice in years and I have had the same thought every time. Workers, owners, andcustomerscanallgainfromthesametranaction…

Why is he speaking at ~1.5x speed? I guess he thinks it gives him gravitas. But it’s only annoying and irritating. Plus the timbre of his voice always reminds me of the worst guy in a horror movie who got caught trying to steal the truck to leave everybody else to die.

Also there’s something I have noticed in all decent philosophers you can read from all political affiliations. They change overtime, the most bs people don’t, this includes folks like Nick Land and the dark enlightenment types.

From my study no, his knowledge and understanding didn’t change in any way as far as I know. His basic of technology being independent of humanity always remained a basic foundation and no additions were added to it. It just seemed he started doing more and more meth so he just started talking about weirder and weirder tech.

In my study I didn’t feel much break as much as I felt breaks in different philosophers like Satre, Kierkegaard, and others. I will give example of Satre since I know him the best, Satre had a break in from Transcendance of Ego and Search for a Method to Critique of Dialectical Reason and onwards until Situations IV. Clear differences emerge in the way he uses existentialism originally being closure to Communism later being more of a CIA puppet, very oversimplified but yea.
