How we frame the issue matters. The Left loses the Right as soon as bike lanes are tied into identity politics. Multimodal equity is simply “freedom of movement” to a Republican. But when Republicans talk about freedom, the progressives hear privilege. Aren’t the Left and the Right essentially saying the same thing?

Except even if the left had framed bike lanes as “Freedom of Movement” the right would have still forced Identity politics into it. People who ride bikes are seen as nuisance on the road to reactionaries. I don’t know how often I heard jokes from someone I was riding with about how hitting a Bicycle would be “20 points” or something similar.

If the problem I had with the the right was their insistence that we name things terribly, I would be an (actual) centrist! I would be okay with calling bike lanes “Trump lanes” if it meant we actually got good bicycle infrastructure.

And if it wasn’t so wasteful, I like the idea of using generative AI for getting visuals for (PRIVATE) TTRPGs. When I just want my group to have a better understanding of what my BBG, “Lord Gargle Deeznuts” looks like. And that’s only if I can generate something decent for free. If I have to pay, it would be better to pay a real human to do the labor.

Other than than those very specific cases, I really don’t believe there is any commercial use for current LLM. Everything is so completely unethical IMO, that even the grey area of generative AI that I mentioned above immediately become unethical the moment a human profits off it.

I mean what did you want Hasan to do at that terrible junction? The PSL and other orgs didn’t have the time or organization to be ready to run a candidate against the mainstream candidate. Kamala is only a hair’s breadth better than Trump, but backing a total loser candidate would not have helped. Even if Hassan fan went out and voted PSL in 2024, it would have still been a Trump victory. Plus, with a 50.1% beating a Kamala 30% would have given the fascist an even bigger ego over “How much of Mandate they have.” I wouldn’t be able stand seeing that comment everywhere!
