I can’t believe a twitch streamer has become the bane of DNC’s existence. I can since US is an influencer-based economy and it’s not unique in that. But it’s so stupid.

Ironically he only became the bane of their existence because they’re spineless and are too cowardly to laugh in the face of reactionaries who bring him up as though it’s a gotcha; republicans are awash in reactionary toilet scum WHOM THEY’VE EXPRESSED APPROVAL OF IN ONE FORM OR ANOTHER

Al Sayed never even claimed to be a DemSoc, Hasan supported and still supports him based on standard electoralism logic, but god damn I wish these people would figure out that nothing is ever or will ever be enough to satisfy the so-called “moderates” because what they really want is a reactionary government that they don’t feel morally culpable for.

Let’s be real, the reality of the situation is in the other direction, the DNC establishment has made itself perfectly clear they are not gonna tolerate the socdem insurgency for much longer

The DNC in the eyes of the donor class dropped the ball on this recent DSA-esque surge of demsocs and socdems and they realize their number one left bashing argument that actually has social and political weight among the masses: Electability, that old reliable knockout punch for every single left tendency over the last 80 years, is about to take a massive blow, assuming the midterms actually pan out the way the polls claim

The establishment couldn’t dogpile the socdem candidates too hard without alienating the libs (which is why they went after Piker) but once the midterms are over, 2027 will play host to the greatest neoliberal media counteroffensive in modern political history and I doubt the DSA, Hasan Piker or even the newly elected candidates will weather it intact. The DSA was simply too timid, they had so much more capacity but they played it safe, they needed at least double the elected candidates if they wanted to survive the coming blitz

Sometimes I get worried that when I draw a character/caricature it doesn’t look anything like the original, but if I’m having a crisis of artistic confidence I just need to look at your average political cartoonist’s work and feel better.

Surprised he didn’t label everyone with a shirt with their name on it, just that one guy.

Yeah, I generally don’t dump on people’s art graphics (it’s better than I could ever manage), but this is so bad that it obfuscates its message and I honestly cannot tell if this is for or against Hasan and El-Sayed

I don’t just go out of my way to insult someone else’s work directly, but sometimes it’s nice for me to have a reminder that the difference between a successful artist and an unsuccessful one is just luck and “networking” not actual skill or hard work.

Political caricatures make everyone hideous, they’re not trying to say ugly people are bad. It’s not like modern political comics where you make your side into gigachads
