Keep in mind that this is (justifiably!) extremely cynical and in all likelihood one or two of the digressions aren’t accurate leaving the truth somewhere in between (but still pretty much certainly far closer to the cynical interpretation). Obvious one - “Training will improve outcomes” is just a thing that’s always been true for any equipment - I suspect it’s true for some of the problems and they’re using that as cover for the ones where it isn’t. But yeah, we should always be cynical about anything a government is saying, quintuply so when it’s the fucking empire. I’m not, crucially, saying Alaskaball is at all unreasonable in their interpretation! Just remember it isn’t a 1:1 translation into truth, because there’s no such thing when it comes to this kind of propaganda. Remember, these are the same organisations that adopted weapons like the ar-15, M4 Sherman, and M1 carbine - they do get it right at least part of the time. We should be wary of assuming they’re incompetent, because they are doing tremendous evil in the world and underestimating them only makes it easier:/

Anecdotally, I currently work part time at a Macca’s while I’m studying and my manager mentioned he was trained there. Obligatory recognition that working in fast food always kinda sucks but he is honestly the best boss I’ve ever had.

That said I expect his immediate superior, who gets off on yelling at the kids I work with and is constantly threatening people’s jobs over, just, the pettiest shit (something I am pretty sure is a borderline labour law violation here), also went there. So, y’know.
