  • This is like when I see libs online say things like “We need to get money out of politics!!” but it begs a question no one ever asks, which is “How?”. How do you get money out of a political system so deeply entrenched with lobbying at its core? Naturally, when pressed on the question, they fall back to “we just need to support progressive candidates, we have to be more ‘politically active’ and we have to educate people on the issues”. Yet, it-is-known that what constituents want, and what results from our political system, never actually align at all.

I wonder what it is that keeps even the most politically engaged, and highly educated libs, like the one you are referring to, on the treadmill for so long?

  • Lol this is how I met a friend recently. He was talking with people in the waiting room at dance class our kids were both attending. I overheard him say “I don’t know, I don’t like the idea of someone else basically paying my mortgage.” I realized he was talking about the idea of being a land lord. I started listening and heard him say “yeah if they can afford the rent they can afford the mortgage”. I butted in to the conversation, and said “yeah the only reason they’re renting is because they lack capital” and then said “Honestly, the commodification of land is the highest form exploitation” lol he responded “The commodification of land really is the highest form of exploitation isn’t it?” Then leaned in to introduce himself.

Reading that now is sounds like an “and then everyone clapped” story, really, no one else really cared and moved the conversation along.

But now we get lunch every Friday and talk commie shit.
