Rant

This is a bit of a rant before I head off to bed but please consider this a comraderadely reminder: Any so-called communist who starts pivoting to this kind of punching down rhetoric should give a MASSIVE :hitler-particles: vibe.

I’m not backing down from that, there’s a reason fascists are most successful when coopting class war rhetoric. Once you lack basic solidarity with people your class consciousness is chipped away like a Welsh stonemason chips away at slate.

    Beautifully put.

BadEmpanada continues to lose my respect. We’re well past the point where I thought he was more useful than harmful to any sort of leftist analysis; the man says some good things but what good things he says, others say too without incorporating more and more right wing brainworms

He’s just too much of an internet edgelord to stay quiet I guess.

He’s also way too used to being right because he measures himself against the worst, dumbest people existing today. That makes him think he is some sort of titan of rhetoric, but the perception is based on having won a bunch of arguments against toddlers.

This guy is so insufferable. He acts like he’s the the most serious and principled communist on the planet while he spends every waking moment of his life posting ragebait online and calling anyone he doesn’t like a fascist or a pedophile, which apparently includes queer and neurodivergent people now. Embarrassing to think I used to watch his shit.

The signs were always there tbh it just used to be easier to separate it from his regular body of work but he’s completely out of control with the posting now it’s sickening

Fuck this loser. He’s just using ableism to disparage people he doesn’t like.

Anywho, I personally advocate you should try to get a medical diagnosis from professionals and avoid self-diagnosis (though I realize this isn’t possible for everyone, especially with how garbage the “”““healthcare””“” system can be). The reason is there are illnesses that look like other illnesses.

For example, you may think you’re suffering from an anxiety disorder. Except it may not be an anxiety disorder at all and it’s actually a heart condition. Those aren’t panic attacks. Those are heart palpitations and you have atrial fibrillation. Or how Bipolar II Disorder looks a lot like Severe Depression Disorder. They require entirely different treatments. Bipolar II can be improved with mood stabilizers, but will cause worse (possibly deadly) psychosis if you try treating it with SSRIs. Then, of course, you can have hallucinations caused by Bipolar Disorder, which is not Schizophrenia (which also causes hallucinations).

So please, please see a doctor if you can and don’t hesitate to seek second opinions. I say this because you don’t have to suffer with something that’s treatable. And again, I know this can be difficult because people don’t have insurance or because doctors can be assholes/prejudiced.

As someone who has severe truama from self-diagnosis, I have to say self-diagnosis is not a good idea and i highly discourage it. Even if you have expertise you will not fully be able to understand things from your own perspective cause pesronal bias exists. and the more ocmplicated the condition is the worse of an idea it is. I read a study once that tested people who self-daigonsed themselves with autism for autism. Only 20% got diagnosed with autism after assessment. Self-diagnosing and presenting yourself as having something you do not have can also cause lots of wider social issues. It’s wild to me so amny peopel support self-diagnosis like this when it’s so widely considered to be a bad thing by medicine and science. To be clear ther eis a difference between self-diagnosis and saying you suspect you have x disorder though. There is a reason doctors aren’t allowed ot diagnose thmeselves. It’s wild to me that people on the internet think that not only can they do that but htey can do it better than professionals who use psychometric testing among other things to diagnose these conditions.
