When I worked construction with my brother in law, he was making about $2 more an hour than me, despite being in construction for his entire adult life. He was basically a foreman and I had started that summer. This was over 15 years ago, but still that’s not a justifiable difference with his experience and responsibilities.

I think a lot of PoC in the US are wanting to leave because they’re worried about racism leading to full-on genocide. People are probably thinking it will be easier to deal with fascism and reactionaries if they don’t have to deal with randomly getting arrested for their skin color and sent to a concentration camp.
Personally, I’m not sure because of how things played out in Japan vs. Germany in WWII. Japan did its fair share of persecution of minorities in that time period, such as the Ainu and Okinawans. Or the mass murder of leftists carried out before the war. Yes, Germany carried out the Holocaust, something uniquely evil because of how methodical it was in murdering millions of people. But Japan made up for it in brutality and fervor. Leaving the US only to move somewhere that gets invaded by the US in its final attempts to survive is a whole other set of problems.

What gets me is how they don’t consider reading socialist theory, even just as opposition research. You’ll find plenty of socialists who have read economists like Keynes and Rothbard, politicians like Obama and Bush, or even nonsense like Mein Kampf and the Unabomber manifesto. I know I’ve read these authors, not believed a word of it, but took the time to understand what they were saying and what arguments they were making.
You don’t see this among liberals and reactionaries post-Cold War. They’re so high on the End of History narrative, they no longer feel the need to do any due diligence. Condoleezza Rice, for example, has a degree in Soviet Studies. It’s why she rose through the ranks of the GOP: she was one of the foremost experts on communism from a NATO perspective. But she’s been tossed aside, with everyone jumping on the Trump Train.

There are things craft people use lots of and are always in need of more. I think it would help to figure out what the person is always buying more of. Stuff like superglue, gesso, needlepoint plastic mesh (AKA “granny grating”), tracing paper, sandpaper, watercolor paper, sculpting wire, and so on are things people are constantly buying more of.

I’m half-white, half-Filipino. Whites will never accept the white portion of my ancestry. I will always be treated as though I’m 100% Asian Pacific Islander. I figured this out a long-ass time ago and want no part in being white.
So it’s absolutely baffling when I see PoC with no white ancestry thinking they can get whites to accept them. Whitey will consider other whites not white as soon as they become an inconvenience. We’ve seen this where Latine people and Arabs had their whiteness revoked post-WWII. If you’re already outside of the in-group? You should be vigilant, more than anything, around whites.
