    Folks.

If you ever catch yourself describing how you want to torture someone to death, I want you to stop and take inventory of your priorities.

Look. I am not a pacifist. Some motherfuckers need to be removed from positions of power by any means necessary, up to and including violence.

That being said, should we not focus on restorative justice and rehabilitation? Why create unnecessary suffering in the process? The argument that things like the death penalty act as a deterrent doesn’t seem to be borne out in the evidence. What good is served by torturing someone, even if they’re the nastiest son of a bitch in existence?

It is important to make sure we don’t let killing for sport seep into our ideology. Using violence against people is not something we should take pleasure in, let alone fantasize about. History has given us plenty of examples to draw from here; once you make a policy out of sadism, the group of people you use violence against only grows.

Also, porn is fine in moderation (like everything else) and can be made totally consensually, you terminally online freaks.

Something Vimes had learned as a young guard drifted up from memory. If you have to look along the shaft of an arrow from the wrong end, if a man has you entirely at his mercy, then hope like hell that man is an evil man. Because the evil like power, power over people, and they want to see you in fear. They want you to know you’re going to die. So they’ll talk. They’ll gloat.

They’ll watch you squirm. They’ll put off the moment of murder like another man will put off a good cigar.

So hope like hell your captor is an evil man. A good man will kill you with hardly a word.

Someone close to me was repeatedly raped by one of he neighbors from the age of 4 until she was 8. He did it to her sister and to his own daughter as well. For this the government gave him 6 years in prison. He was out before she graduated high school. She has a lifetime of shit to deal with because of his actions and I’m sure the other two do as well. There is nothing I wouldn’t do to make that motherfucker suffer. I don’t care if it’s “good” or if it deters anyone else from doing it. There’s no rehabilitation for someone like that or restoring what he took from them.

there are many valid reasons to dislike porn and the industry around it, why are all anti-porn communities so fucking weird?

For real - the industry is horrific. I don’t feel comfortable with the real stuff; I don’t like not knowing if that person was treated fairly or paid what they were promised or consented to everything that happened. Zero puritanical aspect to it, zero issue with smut and drawn images.

It’s just frustrating how the weirdos are the ones most critical of the industry. The world would be better if all porn was stuff made by eager participants who were happy and paid well.

Because while the porn industry might not be great, suppressing sexual desire like they do is unhealthy.

To be human is to want sex. Everyone will at some point think or desire sex. Generally, unless you’re a real rare case, you’ll get horny once in a while.

I’ve spoken with a few people like in the OP in the past, and they yell this anti-porn rhetoric as if they’re trying to loudly drown out their own sexual desires.

Putting aside the psychotic torture fantasies of these unhinged weirdos, could I please give perspective?

I’m anti-pornography. I’m also a former sex worker. I don’t think that no one should consume porn, but you need to realize how horrific the porn industry truly is. It’s why I think people should consume amateur stuff, OF, and independent makers. Big name companies are abusive, full-stop. There are, of course, exceptions with smaller stuff, too, but if you knew what these women and girls AND many boys and men go through for the sake of porn, I hope you would be horrified and disgusted.

This is not a moralistic, prude, “Christian-viewpoint”-thing. Far from it! All I’m saying is that if most of y’all can be furious & boycott N×stlé for their human rights abuse, y’all should also look into ethical porn consumption.

This is where I am at. Sex work was dehumanizing and traumatizing. I was recorded once during an assault. There’s a lot of problematic attitudes towards sex that make the industry damaging and dangerous.

It’s just obnoxious that loons like this are so common in anti-porn spaces.

capitalism guarantees it will always be more profitable to be immoral.
i keep repeating it but it’s so simple and not said enough.
if company A is concerned about morality and company B isn’t, and they’re both selling the same thing, company B will make more profit… they will eventually destroy company A.
even with companies that advertise being super conscientious and make it part of their brand, it’s going to be more profitable to pretend to be than to actually be.
so, buying from giant corporations will always be more evil than buying from small, good groups… and will always be cheaper.
and of course, this applies to porn.
from what i’ve read in AMA’s and such from ex-porn victims, the business model is basically trick them into signing disclaimers, drug and rape them, and then don’t pay them what they were told.
i can’t watch regular porn anymore… not that it’s super healthy anyways… but with the big companies, you’re basically watching videos of a crime.
even with sites like OF, people will pay a lot more for more fucked up stuff… stuff that damages your body… family and friends eventually find out and it fucks up lives in ways they didn’t expect….

there’s no disclaimer about “eventually when you have kids, they’ll be picked on because they’ll find out their mom did porn… everyone at the PTA will gossip and know, and you’ll be treated with disrespect forever”.

The problem is that even if this is “rage bait” its existence and proliferation will silence you as a side effect, that’s the actual purpose of “rage bait”

Mostly, there are cases (Colombia for sure to my knowledge) where girls work at call center-like facilities operating OF, Chaturbate, etc accounts and hand over a cut to the owners of the facility.

Best case, it’s a contractor studio where girls with little to no money/access to the Internet and decent hardware can make a bit of money. I’m sure there are worse cases and would rather not think about how people twist that model into slavery.

Yeah, I know. Drugs to keep the dick hard. Drugs to keep everything not sensitive enough. Drugs to keep going for hours on end. Badly ventilated rooms that begin to smell too much like bodily fluids. I’ve heard the stories of a few cameramen who started their career filming porn.

No wonder most “professionally” made porn always looks so fake to me.

Personally, when it comes to porn I like drawn or animated much better.

        Tap for spoiler

        And rape.

Horrific, merciless, torturous rape. And it can go on for days.

And they essentially own you. They often make sure you’re in such dire straits that they can take advantage of that and force you to do things you never agreed to because they know you’re desperate.

And they record it. And they’ll sell it. And you get to live with knowing that potentially thousands of people get to see you being tortured and get off from seeing you absolutely suffer at your lowest of lows.

The drugs just sometimes help to dull the pain. And make you forget. Sometimes.

Human population growth is already plateaued and in the most developed nations it’s already net negative. in order to sustain break-even (human) population levels, there must be no fewer than 2.1 offspring born, on average, per {gestational reproductive caste specimen}<irrespective of masculine or feminine configuration>.

The human population of South Korea’s last reported birthrate is 0.78.
          In japan, 1.26.
          In the united states, 1.66.

There will be so few able bodied humans extant to perform basic upkeep in 20 years that fundamental infrastructural systems will not JUST be crumbling to dust from sheer neglect as they are now, but actively self-destructing from sustained systemic cascade failure.

As the size of the working population declines, labor will reallocate itself from less necessary positions to more necessary ones. So the proportion of the population that would have worked at McDonalds, for example, would work in nursing homes instead.

Having spent too much time on tumblr… I wish I could say this is uncommon. Tumblr moderation also leaves a lot to be desired and even before the last layoff the site has been running on fumes in terms of support.

Tumblr is, sadly, a huge hotbed for anti-sex radfem rhetoric and has absorbed a lot of it into a larger movement built on top of ship wars. In the 2010s, bigger radfem accounts realized they could use tumblr ship culture as a recruitment strategy and it worked unfortunately well. It’s only gone downhill since then, with more and more extreme views taking over as people who aren’t this rabid get harassed or bullied out of these spaces.

There are a shocking amount of supposedly liberal identifying, and even queer identifying, young people on tumblr who are violently anti sex and anti porn for this reason. It’s also very common to get death threats and harassment on tumblr. These views have only been amplified by the culture on tik tok. The paranoia and moral panic around sex and media isn’t really new (every generation seems to have one) but its difficult to work with because they are very empowered by this idea of righteousness when they engage in this kind of behavior, and like other reactionary movements thrive on the attention they get.

Anecdotally, I can tell you these folks have very black and white thinking and a lot of them are projecting HARD. Guaranteed at least one of them runs like, a vore blog where they swear up and down that it’s a “SFW vore blog” and not “one of those gross kinks”.

There are still a lot of parts of tumblr that are fairly nice though. If you’re willing to block early and often, you can find a solid community of people.

But really she wasn’t strict since I didn’t live with my dad and the only time we ever really interacted was when she helped me upgrade my GPU to play Phantom Menace (still funny I pre-ordered it, but it took months to get it working right), their house just had cable Internet while my mom had dialup until I was a junior in highschool.
