I refuse to believe anyone can actually read Japanese. I can speak a very little bit of Japanese but I have no idea about the language at all. I don’t know how to approach a language that lacks the concept of an alphabet.

How to Japanese people know how to write a particular word? In most languages you can hear the word and at least get a good idea of how it’s written, even if it’s a made-up word. In manga there are a lot of made up, in universe words, and I do not understand how they decide how to write to write to them down or how anyone who reads those words knows how to pronounce the word.

  • I had a beer once that had been put in the freezer and then forgotten about and it did sort of frozen and exploded at the same time. So I got it out of the freezer and put it on the side and it thawed out over the course of the next day but it tasted awful afterwards. It was probably out on the side for 4 or 5 hours before I came home from work, saw that it is now finally defrosted, and put it in the fridge. So that’s a very fat turnaround.

I value Wikipedia and appreciate what they do is important but they have plenty of money. If you are in the financial situation to donate and want to great but I get a bit sick of the guilt tripping they do. They claimed every day for the past decade that they’re about to go out of business any moment now.
