Stickied good luck
I’ve almost completely stopped smoking weed, went about two weeks without any at all until some mysterious shoulder injury kept me from sleeping for a few days and I was desperate. I’ve only smoked a tiny amount before bed a handful of times since, and I don’t have any desire to smoke during the day at all. So not perfect, but could be a lot worse.
I’ve been walking for at least an hour most days, mostly kept up with reading more books. I’ve been having a lot of other issues that I can’t control that are making life harder than it needs to be, so I’m honestly just happy I’m not taking any huge steps backwards. Barely hanging on feels like a huge victory lately
I gymmed today and ate pretty good. Had a cousin’s wedding this weekend and didn’t go crazy on the alcohol. I’ve realised that compared to most Irish people I have fantastic restraint when it comes to drinking, specifically knowing when to stop.
Have you heard the Irish Drinking Song?

I didn’t think I had, but I’ve heard “KILL A FUCKING ENGLISHMAN AND THROW HIM IN THE SEA” so many times. Kyle Gordon is so fucking funny
I found a YouTube link in your comment. Here are links to the same video on alternative frontends that protect your privacy:
I haven’t been posting in these threads much, but I’ve still been putting in some effort at self improvement.
I’ve been training for 2 races, one is a half marathon in 2 weeks, the other is a 5k I run every year. I’m proud of how much training I’ve gotten in since I started my new job. It was really hard getting back into it because the job is so physical.
On the subject of my job, it’s been going great. I’m getting a promotion(not exactly a promotion since it’s a union workplace and I won a bid). It’s only a tiny pay bump with a lot more hours of work required, but it starts me on a pay progression that’ll double my pay over 4 years. I’m in major stress, though, since it requires me passing a difficult training class and then I have a month of long work days to qualify for the position. But once I do that I’m qualified forever and management has basically no control over my career after that.
I’ve also been trying to make more time for my partner, which has been difficult. I’m the kind of person that needs some solitude every day, but my partner has been feeling depressed and lonely lately so I’m figuring it out. It’s been a compromise of me taking some time away from my free-time activities and my partner trying to be available when I am able to do that.
First exam on the chiller course done and I passed, maybe 15 more to go and I’ll have my 800+ certificate ready. The instructor who interviewed me said it was state monies so after I finish this one just apply for more scholarships and learn all I can. As long as I don’t burn out I can prob do 1 a month and level up
Well I didnt get much done BUT. I have fixed my sleep rythm and im going to bed at normal times.
Not fitness this time per se, but I’m on the hunt to thrift some white trainers. I did a plunge on reading /fa/‘s now very dated sticky and the basic bastard r/mfa guides a couple years ago, and I’m One Piece
away from completing my wardrobe basics. The next step is learning taste and my personal style, but I have been getting a good amount of mileage out of the basics.Did a whole week straight of following a proper skincare routine: good shit.
But right now, I deadass need a new plan to gtfo my parents basement. Sucks when employers bare minimum is “creme de la creme”. What I have been doing is just putting some feelers out for grad school, or reaching out to former professors.
CW MENTION OF SA
Been walking daily and eating right. Noticed I have lost some weight in my stomach, face, and calves. This week was heavy with therapy, we did regression therapy and I opened up about my sexual assault when I was a kid.
Been biking more and more as part of my general fitness journey & (slowly) shifting my diet to more plant-based/vegan/vegetarian. I’ve been eliminating meat & cutting down on animal products from my shopping trips & going through what I have in my pantry/freezer. I do have a giant bag of whey protein powder I have to go through, if anyone has suggestions for affordable plant-based protein powder available in Canada is love to hear them!
I buy the Walmart brand plant protein powder. I’ve found cheaper stuff online, but I’m very skeptical of unknown brands of protein powder because heavy metal contamination(either purposeful or accidental), is a real issue. Walmarts equate brand was tested by consumer reports and came back clean.
I’m using hemp protein powder for my breakfast oatmeal, it has an okay taste.
Btw the easiest way for going plant-based is to just put nutritional yeast on everything. It’s healthy and tastes amazing

Ooo nutritional yeast sounds really good, I’ll have to pick some up next time I’m at the store
I got a course going for chiller mechanic going, doing my best if the job I’m at ever implodes though with talk of promotion it’s probably not gonna happen. Still got more plc classes this month every little thing I can do to get skills and get a better job I’ll do and I can’t lie the learning is fun too. Exercise I should get back to the gym prob this saturday coming or even try the gym after work just gonna be a commitment
Committing to just the tiniest bit of exercise last week was a fail. Part of it was remembering to do so but part of it I think was letting myself have the time to do it when there’s like a million other things to do.
I’m just gonna hold the line the rest of this week on trying to maintain better sleep because that’s been hard enough.
