Apparently it’s the last chapter that is going to be light hearted. I’m going to be sad if that’s the case because the silliness is the only reason I play it
Toby I’m begging you I don’t give a damn about prophecies and missing raindeer I just want to see goofy darkners act like weirdos
The way Toby talks about this chapter makes me think it’ll be like chapter 3 where there’s very clearly something darker happening with all the goofy stuff and then things start getting real at the end.
As for the prophecy stuff

(Also Ralsei solo fight when
)Tone-wise, Chapter 3 had the right amount of silly to dark ratio in my opinion. And for a supposedly ‘not important to the story’ chapter, it fleshed out what darkners are a little more and set up Ralseis lack of self worth thing.
Plus it gave us Rouxls Kaard with a laser pointer and the worlds most crustiestly animated TV

The only problem I have with chapter 3 is that the 8-bit sections were kind of boring (but I guess that was the point)
I loved the rhythm game and the actual boss battle with Tenna was amazing and I’m still surprised that so many quick transitions in a battle were possible with Gamemaker Software
Damn I just now found this out. Super excited though, Toby hasn’t missed yet
His humor is millennial humor done so right that even the zoomers love it
Latest round of the ARG was just solved as well. Won’t say anything about it for spoilers.
Dog it was like eating a delicious four course meal that was so peak
Played a bunch of chapter 5, around 6 hours so far but I’m not entirely sure how far along it I am. I’m not gonna spoil anything, so I just want to say that I like it a lot so far and that this chapter feels like a queer dream, personally I really like the two color dudes yaoi they have going on.
EDIT: I’m now getting my ass beat by the secret boss lol so I guess I’m near the end of the chapter.
Ah, it’s my usual reminder to DL and play the critically acclaimed Undertale
“Tosses reminder on my physical copy of Disco Elysium that I played for 10 minutes 4 years ago”
powder that makes you say- Deltarune tomorrow
please no, i don’t care about the meta breaking pointlessly grim lore i just want the silly and heartfelt stuff. it genuinely feels like being taken hostage by teenagers raised in fandom cultures that are only interested in uninspired world building that must be edgy or dark, while also being long and unwieldy so they can fill their enormous free time with debating over every single detail and missing the forest for talking about the leaves on the trees.
i know instant
and unc status but i don’t like fandoms perhaps people’s sensibilities as 14 year olds is not the best.I dislike the kind of wild fan theorizing that just throws stuff at a wall to see what sticks, idgaf if Gaster’s gonna be in the game or where Papyrus is or what the beard prophecy means. But i do like the balance between heartfelt and silly and wholesome stuff and angsty trauma dumping and psychological horror that lurks around the corner. In the end, it’s a coming of age story where a bunch of queer kids from a small town in New England get their character growth and they just happen to all be traumatized af, getting into that is fairly integral to how they learn to deal with their issues and settle into their found family with the other weirdos. And with the possible exception of Susie, it seems very likely that they’ve been hurt particularly because of some grimdark lore shit. I just hope it doesn’t get too contrived, i’m glad TADC which has similar problems with its fandom just went
spoiler
fuck it, we’re not making this a mystery show, all the big twists are just the super obvious stuff like Jax being a closeted trans girl.
It’s a coming of age story where a bunch of queer kids from a small town in New England get their character growth and they just happen to all be traumatized af
And the adult characters are even more traumatized! Yay!
That’s what I like about it. It’s got the teen drama small town stuff for the younger players, yet it’s got a lot of stuff someone my age can find interesting too: it’s straight up a love letter to the Mother series for example and it’s humor is very early internet.
But what if instead of dark lore, we could have Deltarune but it’s about a young witch trying to find her neighbor’s lost cat in the alps /j
/j aside, you could do a really good disco like with that lost cat in the alps premise if you would just do DE tier writing on the average amount of alpine hitlerism lurking behind the picturesque Heidi facade. It would be very different from the alt history post soviet vibe in DE, but i would play the shit out of a disco like that would have a cutesy cottagecore facade with a “yeah and most of your neighbors are out and proud nazis and there’s a mass grave in that gorge over there, with the skeletons of the neighbors that weren’t nazis at its bottom” hiding behind all the twee and quirkyness, especially if “witch” means what it should mean, which is radical lesbian having nightshade fueled orgies with other women in the woods and providing abortion potions to every villager who needs them.
is that a pokeman?
It is a marketable plushie
i thought it was in fortnite
Is there anything that isn’t in Fortnite?
