Marvel apparently now has comics where ‘I just win’ is a superpower; not even exaggerating, there’s a character whose powers rewrite reality to put her on the winning side.

Obviously there are many problems with this and this isn’t the greatest among them, but it’s funny how even here they make her scaly blue skin lighter and more uniform in color. One must imagine that a lot of their interest in Mystique comes from from the movie portrayal, but that version had much darker and noisier scales (and the comic version pretty much always looks at least a bit darker even if her skin was generally uniform, and she certainly looks older than this version with sharper features and/or a longer face, depending on the artist).

It’s funny to me that the face on the right is striking and interesting. The sunken in, yellow eyes. The expressiveness of her upset. The subtle line by her nose. It all serves as a full composition.
Clearly she isn’t currently horny, but if she ever was then it’d probably be more memorable. They’ve actually given the character a personality and likely a plot where she has a reason to express it. I have no idea about the game though.

Yeah, the closest the right hand image gets to “ugly” is that she’s currently unhappy, and… Okay? Characters have different moods, how well that’s depicted is a huge part of what makes narrative works (like, y’know, games) interesting!
