He really has been doing some great work. All the fucking worst people in politics and political commentary are on the attack against Hasan and the DSA, but it is only going to make them more popular. It’s basically Trump 2015/16, but now it’s coming our direction.
Much more is needed, but it is a good and necessary paradigm shift. No matter what sect or tendency you are organizing with, we need to be thinking about how to interface with it. There is a risk that it gets co-opted by the loberal establishment, but even so, us socialists need to be meeting the moment over the next several years and juicing it for as much as we can get.

The right must really really believe that attacking Hasan will be good for them eventually. Do they think there’ll be a controversial fall from popularity in a cancelled style way? Because as it stand they must know that their condemnations of anyone just serve to boost those people, so the only possible way it works out for them is if they believe they’ll get an “I told you so” moment later.
I think they’re trying to push for stochastic attacks on him, trying to rile up the CHUDs so one of them just goes to his house and shoots him. He’s too well known for them to just make up charges and arrest him without that potentially backfiring, but I could see them trying to get rid of him through random attacks on him.
Though I’m not honestly sure why they’re making him public enemy #1 and letting his ideas spread to potentially millions of people, they’re the ones responsible for making him a household name at this point, if they had never mentioned him he would still be a relatively obscure leftist streamer instead of the face of the US left.
They could honestly just be kind of out of touch and not really know what they’re doing as well.
Maybe what they actually want is a very public event, a left wing Kirkening, so that a bipartisan push can happen to crack down on certain things.
I’m just not sure I could see them using him as a martyr for their cause, maybe as a cautionary tale like “This is what happens when you are too extreme in your views, so we need to censor extreme views to keep people safe” sort of way. But it feels like it could be a bit too muddy and messy for them to really succeed, though that could just go back to the “they don’t really know what they’re doing” angle.
The right don’t need to use him. They just need a left wing martyr to say “See, this is what happens! Now let’s crack down on xyz” to Democrats and they’ll jump aboard something that they wouldn’t have done for Kirk.
