Victims testimony in the link. Left the Party a few months ago but refrained from posting about it out of “discipline/not wanting to hurt the movement” on hexbear dot net but this shit is simply beyond the pale. anyone thinking about joining a socialist org deserves to know about this horrific garbage.
Obviously there’s no quick fix to patriarchy orremoved culture but the rotten, misogynistic, apologist, opportunist Becker clique has got to go if this org is going to be anything more than a hotbed of abuse and exploitation. I genuinely loved and respected my rank and file comrades, this shit makes my blood boil.
something really nightmarish about being told that you cant tell people that someone sexually assaulted you because it would damage the party and harm building socialism
pretty fucking ridiculous take too. if thats how youre going to build it, whats the fucking point? this is a woman that helped take care of your own fucking kid once!
the reality is parties must cleanse themselves of bad actors (whether on purpose, criminal, or negligent) regularly, its just how it works. if they dont do this theyre just a club and not a serious organization
This is why I think any healthy organization does frequent purges/reshuffling or else you get horrid shit like this
Call me a lib, but maybe term limits are good.
, mostly jokingCapital doesn’t have term limits, why should we? It would be an unnecessary concession to remove from power an effective leader that is not causing problems.
Like a lot of lib governance ideas – FOIA comes to mind, as another example – it may be mediocre to bad as applied, but that doesn’t mean it would be a bad idea under different circumstances.
One other reason for term limits is to try and get your leadership to cultivate the next generation. This makes sense even if you have a good leader who you hope to have around for a while.
Cultivate early, cultivate often. This doesn’t necessarily mean that you need to switch people out every term, but you don’t want any individual to be indispensably crucial to the organization, and you want to be ready to pass the baton at any time.
Power is like manure, it only does any good when you spread it around.
Along with what @infuziSporg@hexbear.net said, in my opinion term limits are not the solution to this problem. If the same person is elected for a really long time, then your org is not doing enough to train up the next generation. But if presented with that problem, it doesn’t really help to be forced into electing someone less competent just for bureaucratic reasons. In my opinion. It’s attaining the symptom instead of the cause, in a way that could be harmful.
A thriving org that nurtures new leadership will not have a problem of finding people willing and able to take over periodically
I guess term limits would help with one situation: when Betty from accounting wants to be the Forever Treasurer and will be deeply offended if someone else takes that role. But actually solving that requires org discipline and the strength to tell her that she can’t do that. Using term limits is the passive/avoidant solution in that scenario.
idk about regularly, but having the ability to purge corrupt elements is crucial for any healthy organizations’ long term health. serious organizations can be corrupt for a long time before getting their shit together. look at how much crime and exploitation happened under the CCP before Xi’s faction got control of the situation and started doing their purges and getting a handle on crime and the market economy.
honestly these periodic breaches are way worse for the movement than making abusers do penance.

the working class is not dumb and will not trust an organization who lies to its own members to lead a revolution
our government is choking cuba to death while our biggest left parties are covering pr for predatory leadership its embarassing
That’s Americans for ya. I don’t have high expectations for you lot tbh
honestly everyone responsible should be fucking shot as a traitor and dumped in the nearest forest for the carrion. if we won’t even protect our own from our own what’s the fucking point
Its wild that an org as big and structured as PSL still has structural issues that boil down to a lot of the shit from The Tyranny of Structurelessness. (The parts of elite formation and such especially.)
Feels like it’d have to have been intentional at this point, but maybe not. Regardless its a very bad look, disgusting behavior from these men and everyone complicit in the coverup. Sorry, you have to do the hard thing, remove the abusers from positions of power, take the PR hit, but gain in trust overall.
Having someone who signed onto the public statements on the last major PSL scandal now coming out with her own allegations is just above and beyond. Ialready had no huge love or trust for my local chapter but this puts it down in the dumps with national DSA
Thanks for sharing this. Very curious what PSL members here think and feel about this and other allegations that have come out in the last year or so.
I had to step down last year from leadership because of a situation like this where I was extremely vulnerable, and I was asked not to discuss it with anyone. I was effectively cauterized as a threat to the party’s image instead of listened to, empathized with, and brought back into the fold with understanding and respect. The issues I faced came from a leader who then went on to fail and fail and fail, but faced no penalties. I felt ashamed and I felt scared, and I begged for the person who had betrayed my trust to face some kind of consequence, but she didn’t, and at great harm to the local branch.
It feels almost cathartic to see I wasn’t the only one, but also numb. I wanted to build the party we need. I helped to build our local branch from almost nothing. And when it was time for me to have the support I needed, I was hung out to dry.
I don’t know what the future looks like for the local branch, or for the PSL at large and the ML movement in the US; but I can only hope this is a stepping stone and a learning moment that the communist left will learn from, take seriously, and adapt to. That probably means forming a new pre-party cadre network? For better or for worse the PSL has generated and trained many wonderful cadre like myself, and we all deserve a political home with the correct political program but without this continued and genuinely systemic nonsense. Also, I worked with Chris, his shit tracks.
Whatever the fuck, I’m so disappointed, I only wish my case was a unique one. Maybe by even sharing all this I’m practically doxxing myself more than I already have, but just, DemCent can’t mean keeping shit like this going.
Chris made a big fucking show about his military style discipline when I worked with him, just for him to be implicated in TWO scandals in this very article??? Not to mention, like, knowing about this and not doing shit
Chris made a big fucking show about his military style discipline when I worked with him
My branch had someone like this too, and there have similarly been rumors of harmful behaviors floating around him. it’s a type of posture i feel a lot of the org’s rhetoric feeds into that can become an easy cudgel for people in the party with harmful tendencies and also against dissent and against questioning of the Party.
And also, deeply sorry that happened to you comrade
you deserve better than that and the fact that this is such an ingrained pattern in an org I really believed in makes me feel sickThank you, comrade. I hadn’t read the description, so… I didn’t realize you were a party member as well. I also didn’t want to post, or say, or do anything because of not wanting to harm the larger organization. Even in my personal life, I refrained from telling anybody what I went through for like a month. Even my closest friends, because I was told not to and I was so, I don’t know, terrified of just fucking up, you know?
I keep refreshing this page to like, I don’t know… commiserate with someone? I just hate that I’m like one of those people now, one of the people I was terrified of when I was on local branch leadership talking openly about this stuff because like I think everybody in the party deserves to have the party that is what we all dream of. Like dude, there are so many fucking awesome, awesome, awesome, awesome people that I’ve worked with, and I’m just so pissed that this comes from National every single fucking time.
I thought this was the one place where National and Locals worked hand in hand because that’s exactly what we need in this fucking evil empire. Yet these people fucked it up! These people fucked it up so much and I lost months of my life being completely apoplectic about what I went through.
I just still feel like numb, but pissed. I’m so pissed. I’m just so frustrated that I wasn’t the only one. I’m so frustrated that it wasn’t just the person I was talking with from national that I begged for help from. I kept telling myself first that it wasn’t that big of a deal and then that, you know, it was the tough call to make, but he made the right call. And then I told myself it was just him, you know, and not like a bigger overall issue. But it turns out it goes all the way up to the fucking Central Committee. The fucking Central Committee. Are you fucking kidding me? Are these guys like 12? I thought they built the fucking party that was like historically needed in this fucking moment. It turns out it really is just another place to get abused.
Which fucking pisses me off. I got so much flack from like the anarchist left here where I’m at, which is still pretty significant even with their shocking and horrifying history of sexual abuse scandals that I myself was also subject to. The way I saw it, I would be protected because what kind of communist organization would be so short-sighted to not protect victims? But it turns out, a organization I completely stuck my neck out for, an organization that I helped fucking build locally, just, it just, it just is the same thing. Democratic centralism literally is the tool for liberation, right?
One amongst many, but a pretty important one. And yet, and yet, I always hear how in October 7th, the party started planning and was ready to be in the streets on October 8th while the rest of the left was still paralyzed. That’s like the power of democratic centralism. But what the fuck is this shit? This isn’t democratic centralism. Hell, in my local fucking branch, our structure of organization has just completely, like, frozen so many valuable, hardworking people. I always have to hear about October 8th whenever there’s issues with democratic centralism or our decision-making structure in the party.
I can’t say it enough. I nearly lost my job because I was so disabled by my experience. Honestly, the worst part wasn’t even what I went through initially, but just the fact that it was covered up and I was forced to trickle-truth so much about it with the people that I loved in my life and trusted comrades, and still, the vast majority don’t even know what I went through. I read books about, like, understanding betrayal trauma and shit. I started out feeling numb, but the more I write, the more emotional I get. It feels like a fucking release. I honestly don’t blame anyone who’s put so much into the party. I did too. But it just sucks. That’s all I can say. It just really fucking sucks. I thought we were building the future, and I was wrong.
I’m sorry about your experiences well, comrade. It just hurts so much that we’re not alone.

this is fucking awful to read comrade, my heart breaks and my blood boils for you. like you i really did love and respect my rank and file comrades, that’s part of why how deep this rot goes infuriates me even more. everyone i knew/know through the Party deserves so much better than this systematically abusive leadership.
i’m so, so sorry that happened to you, but i wanted to thank you for sharing it as well. i’m glad you’re at least able to bring what happened to light here after being forced to keep it hidden by a bunch of abusive ass covering opportunists
I’m so sorry, that’s awful. For what it’s worth, you’d probably do a great job building a different org (e.g. founding one), not that you need to right now.
Thank you comrade
I’m sorry this happened to you, comrade. That’s horrendous and unacceptable.
It means a lot to hear that said. I honestly really did blame myself for a long time, but, having it written enough of it down and then getting pretty much universally horrified reactions has made me feel a little less crazy. I’ve shared both more and less here than I even have with my closest friends and comrades in real life so… Thank you

Tragically, self-blame is common, though it’s by no means correct. I know you already have come to accept that, but I just want to affirm that point even more. Any “communist” that victim blames doesn’t care about either the org nor the victim, the health of the org requires that it properly holds abusers accountable and protects its people.

as a former member who left over something far less severe (the deeply suspect way leadership handled the split a few months back, plus a creeping feeling that rank and file - including myself - were just seen as employees to be exploited by a bunch of shitty bosses), I think PSL is very much a not-actually-democratic centralist org where dissent - even in supposedly dedicated spaces for it - is seen as a threat and is squashed and where leadership expects blind deference and obedience.
this is the exact kind of environment that breeds horrific coverups like this one and which suffocates accountability for harmful behavior and makes it impossible to protect and genuinely care for victims. like i said in my post, this type of harm is obviously a society-wide issue under patriarchy that doesn’t have an easy quick fix, but removing this ossified, corrupt leadership clique would be a necessary precondition in the specific context of PSL.
This is not going by without issue or response internally. It highlights many long term problems with the Becker leadership clique that have been held up as criticisms by many party members for years. It was also a massive violation of trust within the party - Eugene was the face of the party and its political leadership much more than the Beckers for years, and he essentially just poofed away with a shallow lie about why. That meant the membership was broadly deceived about the real situation and went on to vote for him to the Central Committee again, which surely would not have happened if this was known.
The party is long overdue for a major clearing out of the Central Committee and comrades are working hard towards that end. The organization is extremely strong and extremely effective at producing communist cadre - it would not be difficult to raise up a new group of leaders more suited to the task and replace the old boys club (which has lots of women in this case).
This was already a year of major internal changes to improve democratization and reduce centralization in the party because of issues like this, but they now need to rise to the highest levels of the org. I’m optimistic we’ll clear out where we need to and come out a more capable revolutionary vanguard, cause sure as shit no one else is up for it.
thank you for sharing your perspective. it makes sense that the grassroots are working to renew the leadership.
I think the PSL has potential (which is why I’m a member), but an org isn’t grown up until it can hold high ranking officials accountable for their behavior. I don’t know anything first-hand about the situation described in this post, but I support holding the guilty parties accountable for their behavior and removing them from positions of influence. The Party has supposedly done a lot of work in recent years to be better at accountability, but considering that the organization includes many American men its going to be a long process. Especially if there’s an American man up there that’s trying to convince himself that he’s a good person because he’s fighting for something important.
I still think building organizations is harder than fixing them tho so I’m gonna keep trying.
Building organizations is usually easier than fixing them if the things that need fixing are deep power structures and there’s no impetus from within them to overhaul. You could spend your entire life trying to reform an organization “from within” and fail simply because those structures would rather maintain themselves than do anything else. The methods and reformability of an organization are what actually happens, not what they say they are. For example, from members of a different org, I learned they would get routinely harassed as individuals for all of their personal decisions and social media posts, by leadership, based on sweeping false declarations by leadership about how Maoist political criticism works and is beneficial. Rather than reform, that org kept all of its same leadership and bad practices because everyone who recognized the issue left rather than spend their time trying to organize against the leading and founding clique in their organization. Time that was already taking up more headspace, energy, and discussion time than actually doing any org programming. Org programming that was itself not particularly deliberated, let alone criticized, as it was introduced by that head clique and criticizing it meant facing personal rebuke in public.
The only thing that isn’t easier when building organizations is actually doing it very well, as it means accounting for a thousand different things. This is why the best builders were already members of orgs that were most of the way there but needed changes. The practices are ingrained and can be reproduced with good modifications.
There’s nuance to it of course!

This cover-up didn’t serve to protect the PSL it only served to protect a perpetrator of sexual violence within the PSL.
“Communists must be ready at all times to stand up for the truth, because truth is in the interests of the people; Communists must be ready at all times to correct their mistakes, because mistakes are against the interests of the people.” (Chairman Mao, On Coalition Government)
accuses Puryear of the assault and Ben Becker of covering it up.Just want to share a tid bit about Brian Becker. My first introduction to him was on Sputnik Radio’s Loud and Clear podcast, where he co-hosted with John Kiraikou… The former CIA officer, who in 2007 seems to have just blurted out in an interview that the CIA was waterboarding people during the Bush administration… He left the CIA in 2004, and I’m pretty sure it wasn’t because of the torture. Gina Haspel was directing the program at the time, and so she was implicated, she was later Appointed deputy director under Trump 1, and director under Biden. Kiraikou served 2 years in prison for that interview. The thing is, in the podcast he always portrayed himself a having been a whistle blower, and that he was trying to take down Haspel like he was some kind of hero. I’m not clear on the details of the case though.
At any rate, he gets this co-host gig with Brian Becker on a explicitly socialist podcast produced under the umbrella of “Russian State Media” Sputnik Radio. Brian Becker is an old head activist, I’ve heard him many times talk about protests he participated in back in the 80s or so.
Both of them offered pretty principled takes as far as I could tell at the time, but it’s been years since they cancelled the show and parted ways.
But what the fuck is a founder of a revolutionary ML party doing, chumming it up with an “former” CIA officer? It’s weird imo.
While I’m in no way saying that the PSL has any particular claim to being “the real communists”, it feels a bit weird to immediately try and retroactively discredit them as leftists in the wake of this. Yes, real leftist orgs can absolutely have predators hiding among their ranks, just like any other organization can, and instead of implying that this sort of thing could never happen to us true leftists, we should remain alert to this possibility.
implying that this sort of thing could never happen to us true leftists
I’ve heard words to those effect spoken in at least one leftist org.
delusional
I don’t think we need to reach for “CIA assets” as an explanation for PSL’s limitations. Its far more simply explained by: “demcent organization has ossified leadership clique”. Tale as old as american communism.
While true, it is still super weird that a higher up in a communist party is pals with a “former” CIA officer.
Its not weird if Becker is more focused on building his independent media personality. Its not like sputnik news is a bastion of communist sympathy either. Dude sounds like Glen Greenwald mixed with Lyndon LaRouche.
Yeah, the show is defunct and now it’s just him and the producers from it putting on The Socialist Program podcast.
Or Russian communism.
Yeah, I don’t think Becker is an asset, he’s done decades of legit activism with Code Pink, About Face, and other good groups. But there’s def assets placed in every org, you can’t avoid it. It’s just so weird that there’s any relationship there at all.
We know these people insinuate themsves into any organization of any sort. So its no surprise. The question for a political organization is how they treat it.
The link in the post is hardly at all about the initial assault. Its mostly about the subsequent manipulations. The betrayal of the physical act by 1 person vs the betrayal of the organizational act by several people. Its in the context of what came before and after.
In PSL, which is known for insisting members not air disagreements in public, what is the process for this stuff? Knowing as we do that it will certainly occur.
And that agents of the state use SA and IPV to diminish women. Class treachery one way or the other.
“but he does so much! What would we do without him?”
How to decide
- How to save him?
- Is he worth it?
Not every guy who “does a lot” is worth the drama and pain he charges as a fee.
Eventually, I was asked to move to New York City to help plan the 2019 Congress. Once there, I spent every day with Ben and his family. We organized out of his apartment. We cooked and I helped care for his young child. In those years, I was one of only two party staffers.
Well that is weird.
Never move to the compound
Organizations need offices. You shouldn’t be doing stuff out of someone’s house unless you’re actively on the lam. PSL is big enough to rent some space, or share a union hall.
Its easy for you to say that, but as jack said, it was a long road of development and we did have to start somewhere. We’d used whatever public spaces we could scrounge up for meetings and public events, but sometimes things like equipment and rapid meetings had to be in someone’s home.
I’m aware, I’m just getting the feeling that with this current context there may have been something else at play. My local DSA and PSL almost never met at homes and usually met at a sympathetic business or the IBEW hall.
Maybe in that context, but organizing out of someone’s home is very normal when there’s barely resources to go around and at the start. Their level, though, was national which is kind of ridiculous to still be organizing out of one’s homeTheir level, though, was national which is kind of ridiculous to still be organizing out of one’s home
This is why I’m not giving them much grace (especially since we already know sex pest behavior is a thing with these 3 guys).
If a local can keep things professional, national shouldn’t have a problem. They aren’t literally fighting a guerilla war. They have the ability to acquire a space to organize out of. If it is at someone’s home, the other organizers shouldn’t be doing housework for you either. That just reeks of abuse of power.
Also not trying to wreck or anything, we had to deal with something similar when I was still part of my DSA local during COVID. One of the local chairmen was outed as an abuser and some others helped cover it up for a while. They also wanted to have people (mostly women) in their home. Luckily there was the IBEW hall and a co-op bookstore that hosted most meetings (same ones also hosted PSL and SRA meetings lol).
The party has many offices and spaces these days, but it was a lot smaller and less resourced in 2019.
In 2019 my local PSL met at a Kava bar. This was in a small town in NC. I find it hard to believe that there wasn’t like a bookstore, union hall, or small business that they could organize out of.
Given what we know now this reeks of her being taken advantage of.
Eh, Idk. We meet at people’s houses all the time for small group meetings all the time. There just isn’t enough spaces that are open when the work or meeting is being done, with room, and chairs, and wifi, and close to everyone who wants to meet, and private enough to discuss things. We usually try other places first, but when no place works out, we’ve been lucky enough that someone is nice enough to volunteer their home.
They weren’t meeting at people’s houses. They were working out of the home of one member so much so that a staffer felt obliged to babysit his child.
I’ve done both, and even a very small rinky dink organization can understand and at least somewhat mitigate the problems with this kind of dynamic.
The PSL has a long history of knee jerk reactions to accusations of sexual assault. Historically it’s been to deny, alienate, and harass the women into covering up their own victimization just to save face for the org. I kinda thought this was an open secret? I didn’t think this would be that surprising for this forum.
He told me that the only people he had told were [Ben’s brother] Brian, Ben’s father, and Karina, Ben’s wife.
Still reading through the blog, and this stood out. I don’t think it’s healthy at all to have some family be the head of the org. Why is Ben’s father and wife privy to private party matters?
Also, what is up with PSL NYC being as shitty as DSA NYC apparently? Did the feds saw that the NYC branch of the BPP was the best branch and decided to run a COIN operation to make sure that every NYC branch of subsequent socialist orgs would be the shittiest branch?
NYPD has sooo many COIN operations going on i imagine
NYC was deliberately chosen as the center for organizing the party, like the party capital. It’s less of a center among many and more like central, its actions tend to reflect national direction.
The family head of the org thing is old lore, and only partially true as there are other very important members not part of their family… Before reading all this I will say that my impression of the Beckers are that they are/(were?) all genuinely kind and earnest people. But this issue comes from before the PSL existed…. The Workers World had a rule, they deny it, but it was one of the unstated reasons for the split: You could only be romantically involved with other members of Workers World. So many of the senior leadership cut their teeth in WW, so there has been some inertia. On top of everyday people meeting and dating from working together in the party.
Brian’s son Ben is married to Karina. Brian’s brother Dick (I believe he wrote their book on Palestine) is married to Gloria La Riva. I want to add, Gloria and Karina are genuinely nice people and highly dedicated and principled as far as I can tell, and they both have their own independent organizing backgrounds and work- so I wouldn’t really characterize the family itself as the clique necessarily, or single minded. I think that sort of belittles their own accomplishments. I think Dick and Gloria live on the other side of the country. This is partly why I am sort of reeling over this- I am having a hard time believing just how much damage Ben and Brian have done- so many others have poured endless hours of work for the party only for them to mistreat Marissa- who from this letter, seemed like family to them before all this, but also an employee, which imo makes this even more upsetting
It’s actually very easy to see how a man’s good intentions can produce exactly this outcome because he didn’t understand how to respond or the emotional turmoil of the person who was victimized. They put all the decisions in her lap and would’ve accepted the outcome she determined, but they didn’t understand what she was going through or how to appropriately respond, so the pressure of their position put her in a box where she couldn’t make the right decision. Soft pressure, even unintentional, is extremely powerful. Good intent can produce terrible outcomes like this - not that I’m saying they definitely did have good intent, more than it doesn’t really matter.
So, the comma is being used to mean “Brian, who is Ben’s father” rather than listing two separate individuals, “Brian and the father of Ben.”
yeah, it is confusing, but i believe that is correct
Not another one. Between this and DSA’s endorsement of Platner, it has not been great for the US left recently.
EDIT: As someone in the belly of the beast, what the hell am I supposed to do? Leave and join some other tiny, splitter faction? Go back to DSA? This sucks.
I regret to inform you that there’s a movement within DSA to endorse AOC for president.
The DSA has always been “big tent”. Most locals start off as reading groups and lefty hangouts until someone comes in and tries to organize for something.
It’s not a surprise that all the disenfranchised Dem staffers gravitated to DSA locals.
I didn’t think DSA endorsed Platmer?
they “recommended” you vote for him, but they didn’t fully endorse him due to all the…mercenary babykiller stuff
oh well that’s fine i guess lol
well it’s the standard “blue no matter who” stuff

i think there are legitimate “we don’t like this person enough to formally endorse but if you’re going to vote they’re the least bad one” situations but that’s for well-meaning liberals in a situation where there is no radical candidate, not mercenaries
i don’t disagree
Extremely disappointing to see, and the test of the party will be its ability to handle such a situation effectively. SA is unacceptable.
Baumann affair all over again…
I was just trying to remember what this reminded me of.
smth smth first time as a tragedy, second time as a farce smth smth
(imma be honest, i think leftist parties should put harsh cutoff point on age of around 25 to save everyone, people both know their worth (and less likely to take this stuff), and it should reduce young radical->finds a stable job thingy, and thus ruthlessly is squeezed for juices in the heavy rotation of young ones, because party knows it’s statistically likely to happen, while older core ossifies/becomes unaccountable)
Age limit the primary party and run a separate youth wing like CPB does with YCL.
Oddly enough I’ve never heard an accusation like this in any British orgs. Either the british orgs are better at coverups (doubtful?), it’s a uniquely american thing and more frequent there because of it (also doubtful?) or it’s used in ops by US intelligence frequently while not used in ops by UK intelligence, which would explain the huge disparity in accusations/cases.
I do find it fairly odd that this comes up so frequently in american communist orgs. Maybe i just grossly underestimate how much more gross american men are.
I think there is a big inquiry going on about how the UK intelligence/police used male operatives to abuse and manipulate women, with the goal of lessening their efficacy and the orgs? Granted the record runs dry 20 years ago but no reason to think it stopped.
There is probably a better document that this available, if I find I will update:
https://www.spycopsresearch.info/analysis/relationships-overview
Edit
This article describes the situation better overall for someone not familiar with it, but doesn’t describe the way the police used abuse against the women (beyond the inherent abuse of dating someone under false pretenses; I mean stuff that would be abuse no matter what the context) https://www.ibtimes.co.uk/uk-spycops-scandal-former-officers-charges-1817026
“Comrade Delta” I believe in the SWP was one of the most recent SA scandals in the UK left.
SWP
If it was going to be any of them this is the most obvious lol
The UK is full of Trots that build insular cover-up “party first” structures just like this.
I’m talking about the ml orgs, but you’d think there would be public accusations regardless of party structures instead.
Oh I see.
Does the UK have a ML org with more than 1000 members on paper?
CPB has 1300 afaik, we could argue about their ml credentials though.
Sounds about right yeah. I should have explained my meaning more which is just that without being intimately plugged in to ML politics in the UK one might miss even public accusations.
we had this setup in Ireland and the youth wing disaffiliated from the party due to something similar to this. not sure how much of a fix it is
inside main party or cross orgs?
used to be the youth wing of the main party. now independent. non ideological split due to main party’s treatment of an issue like this.
Cutoff as in lower limit or upper limit?
My party is only for 40 to 60 year old dads who just wanna grill, and occasionally argue about which AAS country has the coolest flag
lower, have young league if one desires, but have it have its own structures for this stuff
Wouldn’t even have helped in this specific instance though?
it feels more and more every day like the solution is simply not to allow men into positions of power

unfortunately many women played a central role in this event
yeah, i know. i’m mostly just venting honestly. there’s also the comrade you spoke to elsewhere in-thread who was victimized by a woman. i’m under no illusions that women aren’t capable of being shit or anything, but the fact that men do the vast, vast majority of SA is uncontestable.
just tired of this shit being absolutely every fucking where. i stand by my original statement that the people responsible should all be shot.
