I remember talking to a coworker and he mentioned how he has a friend who hates trans people but loves the “lady boys” in Thailand. Had to explain to him that it’s just a form of orientalism.

Not even just orientalism, it’s straight up racism and white supremacy. They are fine with Asian trans women but not white trans women because of A) their fetishizing of Asian women in general and B) their concerns about the white race “being outbred”. They want all white people to be straight baby factories while they want other races to be their sex objects, (what they consider) men and women alike.
