  • There’s this crackpot racist theory that all the people in ancient civilizations weren’t conscious, merely operating on “auto pilot”.

This is wrong, obviously, but it does raise an interesting thought about people who operate “largely with their brain switched off”. They don’t give much thought into things. Ever.

Probably just part of the universal human condition tbh. You have people who gay, autistic, those that fear death, etc. Stuff about being human that permeates time and location.

There’s nothing stopping people from just… Not being deep thinkers. They’re not dumb, they just don’t think too deeply about stuff.

  • The whole thing with “Stanley” cups a while back.

It’s all grifting orchestrated by the marketing departments to artificially increase demand. The thing with air friers is another example.

Really makes me question the intelligence of people tbh. Quite a few people are full on NPCs who have never had an original thought in their life.

You put something in front of them and they’re just like “Oh. Alright I guess I’m doing this now.” My mom is one of these people.

It’s certainly a way to live. I wouldn’t describe it as a good way to live.

  • The actual exciting thing about RISC-V is all the embedded stuff.

Yes, I’m autistic enough to get excited over a cheap microcontroller running a garage door opener lol.

There’s also required for a fully automated country. You don’t need AI, or supercomputers, or all that jazz. The actual core requirement are a bunch of cheap microcontrollers checking and doing “small stuff”.

Driving CNC machines, counting produced parts, checking if doors are closed, etc. A bunch of simple fixed logic. Very useful!

Also you can leave factories and stuff idle when we don’t need more of a specific thing. Just send in a couple people to dust the machines off and makes sure they still work every few months or something.
