These new thieves are so efficient, they can steal the copper wire before it ever even makes it to a wall! Disruptive innovation like that is what we really need in this country!
Damn, they stole 8 nvidia cards? I can’t believe what this country is coming to?
A trailer carrying “several hundred pounds” of “computer server equipment” worth $13 million was destined to land in Fayetteville, Georgia, “home to one of the largest data center developments in the country.” Two off-duty cops hired as escorts lost sight of the trailer after an unmarked sedan struck their car and forced the cops to stop as the trailer drove on. Gerardo Pachuca, a private investigator and former LASD cop investigating cargo theft, told NBC News that “the accident was not an accident. The bad guys wanted that load, so they intentionally took out the escorts.”

Unlike other kinds of cargo theft, data center equipment doesn’t often get sold in online marketplaces, experts told NBC News. Instead, stolen shipments can be broken down into parts and sold on gray markets to tech firms that rely on questionably sourced equipment to keep costs low. In many cases, an overseas buyer is already lined up before the theft occurs, investigators said, particularly in regions where access to high-end technology from the US may be restricted, like China.

Broadly, cargo thieves are infiltrating email accounts to find lucrative shipments, misdirecting shipments, disrupting GPS tracking, and using AI to create fake driver’s licenses to get accomplices hired as delivery drivers.

“unmarked sedan” unmarked like every personal vehicle?
maybe didn’t have a license plate on it?
It didn’t say “Communist Chinese Party” on it so we can only assume those damn commies were trying to fly under the radar. The driver was identified as one Cletus ‘I Love Trucks’ McDichael, so we can also safely assume that the reds have figured out some sort of advanced hologram disguise technology.

Subeditor had fun with this

lol China doesn’t want the US’s garbage, they’re making their own computer parts
They do actually. They’re still years away from true sovereignty and parity with what the west has developed. The CPC wisely made it a strategic goal but in the interim they very much would like some nice servers full of HBA memory and maybe some Nvidia AI processors to stuff in their data centers. And at a five finger discount from thieves? Well a lot of Chinese companies would jump at that too by not asking too many questions about the provenance of the items. But this is 100% Americans seizing economic opportunity with a side hustle that the AI honchos hate you to know about rather than anything organized by the Chinese government or companies. Free marketeers should be pleased though as after all it’s the market forces routing around the damage of US sanctions which impede free trade which they claim is the ultimate good.

demiurge
explain gnostic communism
Matt Christman explored capitalist realism as demiurge where the structures and enabling class constitute an architect of a false material reality. The communist aspect would be the gnosis I suppose - awakening to the imprisonment of our lives and imaginations.
I don’t know what any of this means but it sounds fascinating.
Where do I start with Matt Christman thought?
Start with Mark Fisher. Chapo gave a fair overview you can listen to here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kfucGrw66rg
Or read his book, Capitalist Realism, of course. It’s a short book but pretty dense and heavy.
Matt did a lot of explorations over many vlogs during the early pandemic, which are all catalogued in a playlist on the Chapo YouTube channel. I’m not sure what’s been summarized or turned into write-ups that are worth reading though. I was along for the ride back then, tuning in daily.

It would be funny if the outlaws were actually being paid by a rival AI data center of the intended AI data center.
if not for the whole taking out the pork deal, I’d bet it was insurance fraud
