My family actually won a civil suit against a landlord who said his mother was moving in to bypass the time frame needed to kick someone out for other reasons. We caught the guy with a for sale sign out front while we were still moving shit out.
Possibly the only time the system has actually worked in my favor… that’s bleak

Given this could be used against the landlord (if the person has any privilage to sue) that’s pretty big on him. I mean I get it, I know I’d tell all my father’s clients to go somewhere else if I could, but not many people are like that.
This actually happened to me. We contacted the landlord’s son ourselves cause one of my roommates was friends with him in high school. It took years for them to get us out
