We are living through some very fucked up bizarre bullshit. This is like if The Onion made a movie yet it’s real.

I guess that’s what happens when you empower the worst people in society with the worst ideas possible.

We are living in awful fucking times, quite possibly the worst ever. Any politician who isn’t trying to meet the moment by running around, pissing their pants, and acting like a doomsday preacher is a complete grifter

The Onion did make a movie. Been a while since I saw it but I have a feeling it didn’t age well.

Anyone that can say things like “10% chance that humans will go extinct” because of their work and continues to take actions to further that risk is an active threat to humanity.

If there was a non-insignificant chance that my actions could blow up where I live then you’d be damn sure I would stop doing it.

‘We pose an existential threat to humanity, give us more money’

    What

I know why not, but the simple question to pose is ‘Why not just shut it down?’

So these companies will cause the destruction of humanity if they are allowed to continue. But also their companies are all collapsing and make no profit and will soon all be bankrupt.

It’s kind of tough to figure out, but I think there is a pretty easy solution to all this.

They’ve just sailed right past the “denial” thing that say, petroleum and tobacco companies tried to do, and decided to use the existential threat as a marketing strategy.

Oh oh oh! And I just realised that these people probably put stuff like this out because they are so misanthropic that they see the death of humanity as a good thing, so they want more funding to continue trying to destroy humanity because they’re insufferable techbros who think humans are bad, because they only speak to other insufferable techbros. I’d probably have similar feelings about people if they were the only sort of person I ever spoke to.
