A teenager died in a walk in oven at my local Walmart Mart and they were considered not complicit. That doesnt make any fucking sense. Walk in ovens should open from the inside and there is no way st all even someone intentionally going in there isnt gonna leave pretty soon. These were for baking bread, it would have been slow and agonizing. There has to have been some safety issue. I dont care what the intent was of anyone going in, they would leave if they could as soon as shit got real. If someone being slowly baked to death cant leave the walk in oven, which has to be the case no one has the willpower to endure that kind of pain even on purpose, there is a serious serious safety issue going on.
That is horrific, when I used to work in fast-food our walk-in freezers had internal means of opening, ridiculous that walk-in ovens (something I personally would consider far more dangerous) don’t.
I worked at a pizza shop like a decade ago and the door handle inside the walk-in freezer straight up didn’t work most of the time so people propped it open if they were ever inside.
I am so glad we have a labor code that allows me to not go into an unsafe freezer until it’s fixed
I mean, yeah, I always held it open when I was inside (only a small freezer) as I just knew I’d be the unlucky sod where the mechanism fails and I suffer some Final Destination ass death.
I think I remember that one. Weird shit around the case right? Like her Mom, who also worked there, was the one who found her. Or that the cameras that were pointed at the front of the door weren’t recording?
I think there was some speculation that either the emergency mechanism inside didn’t work, or someone kept the door shut
It was a few years back and can recall when trying to look up how things shook out that it wasn’t the only case.

I bought a $10 coffee maker at wallymart last year and I paid with cash. An hour later I got an email from them asking to rate the experience. I’ve bought stuff there previously with a credit card and get the same email but this time was just cash and I didn’t enter anything that would ID me so they must have my image and info stored in their database.
Calling it now. By 2028 Walmart will require penis inspections to buy a rotisserie chicken. Inspections plural for chicken singular.

I think it would come down to a non-commercial use with no reasonable expectation of privacy. In the US if it’s somewhere you know there are cameras they don’t typically need individual permission to use your likeness in something like a festival promotion. Everyone in Walmart knows they’re being filmed and it’s stated on signs by all of the cameras. They probably wouldn’t need much if anything beyond that to use the footage however they want.
