As a child, I thought Neptune was the coolest fucking planet ever. It was blue. A gas giant. Didn’t have a ridiculous “your anus” type name, and had some crazy facts such as having winds almost twice the speed of sound, an atmosphere full of ice and frozen methane. Why do I feel so ugly and weird
I went surfing for the first time since starting HRT and I was expecting it to be much harder with the strength loss but it actually wasn’t that bad? It helps that I’m with an instructor who’s telling me what waves to go for and when but I can definitely still get out past the sets, paddle into waves, and ride them. And now I look 100x hotter in my wetsuit with some curves.
Nice. I’ve been pleasantly surprised by not running into any problems with no longer being able to do things I’ve used to be able to do.

So since my request for random fun facts in the last thread turned out great, here’s another random fun fact to kick off this week:
The Kindlifresserbrunnen (Fountain of the Eater of Little Children) is an almost 500 year old statue in Bern, Switzerland that depicts a man pulling young children out of a bag and eating them alive. It was created by Swiss sculptor Hans Gieng, but no one seems to know what the intended message was supposed to be. There are many theories, but I think maybe Mr. Gieng just thought it was hilarious and was basically doing an elaborate 16th century shitpost.

My fun fact: the only place on Earth where Venus flytraps grow is a small swampy area along the coast of North Carolina, USA. Like within about a ninety mile radius or so. Every time they’re shown in documentaries they never mention it and always intimate that they’re from somewhere more exotic and interesting. Also they are nearly impossible to grow from seed outside of their natural environment, so like 99% of the ones for sale anywhere on Earth have been illegally poached.
they’re actually really easy to propagate from cuttings - the rampant poaching really confuses me honestly because of that fact. also they don’t sell for very much money either

Barely over a week on HRT and my skin is starting to feel softer? Smoother? It definitely feels different than it used to.
It’s also even harder to suppress my emotions, which is great when I feel safe enough to cry it out but has me feeling like a cornered animal in all other contexts. One of these days I’m going to snap and say something super out of pocket at work and get fired.
