It’s very telling that liberals are so keen on rehabilitating the bush administration and the hawkish foreign policy that they aren’t willing to make it a party line that yes the 2000 election was credibly stolen via the Supreme Court and subsequent Gore capitulating.
The only time in my lifetime a third party candidate has had any actual effect on the election was Ross Perot, and he took votes away from the GOP candidate HW Bush.
The DNC love to pretend that third parties hamstring them and cause them to lose material votes, but it has literally never happened.

I was living in the US then and old enough to vote for that election. Another missing piece here is that Al Gore had the closest thing to a sure shot election and ran the worst campaign known to man. He even lost his own state.

Nader didn’t even get any electoral college votes - did he? In any case - here we are 26 years later an the dems still haven’t done a single tiny iota of a thing to get rid of the electoral college and fix the court. Although being that we have an out-of-control reactionary GOP court the dems are meekly discussing possible court reform.
He did not, and it wasn’t even close. The state he got the highest in was Alaska, at a little over 10%. In nearly every state only the candidate who gets the plurality of the popular vote gets any electoral votes.
He did not affect the outcome of the election, the only thing that changed it was the Supreme Court illegally stealing it for Bush.

Iirc in Florida in 2000 more registered democrats voted for Bush than for Nader. They just ran a shit campaign, straight up. Nader had nothing to do with it
And even despite their shit campaign they did win but decided to just give up in the face of the blatantly illegal theft by the Supreme Court and the Florida state government (Run by GWB’s brother)
