So quite often I’ll bump into chairs, knock my head into things, stub my toes into stuff, etc.
A lot of the time I “side swipe” stuff. Grazing chairs and things, partially bumping into things, or causing stuff that’s near the edges of tables to come crashing to the floor.
I think that’s called “dyspraxia”? Although I don’t have trouble with riding bikes or operating motorized equipment. I’m also fine with moving around and manipulating objects. I suppose I am kinda crap at catching objects?
I’m guessing it’s a pathfinding thing where my subconscious has a mediocre way of keeping track of objects around me.
This is probably part of the reason I can get really lost in 3D video games, especially the older ones.
Metal of Honor: Rising Sun was 👌especially👌 irritating, especially with that Guadalcanal level. That one was pure ASS.
Locating specific map locations from walkthrough videos is quite difficult.
Other then the annoyance of bumping into things, I don’t think about it.
Unless, of course, someone (my mom), goes all “uGh! WaTcH wHeRe YoU’rE gOiNg!”
That instantly pisses me off.
Is it the ADHD walk?
I feel called out
Did not know this was a thing holy fuck, I thought I just walked like that for no real reason
I have pretty strong spatial awareness, but maybe that’s just a skill that’s grown strong by necessity. I generally want to avoid being in anyone’s way, but also will weave through a crowded area like it’s a fun game. Probably related to
too.but also will weave through a crowded area like it’s a fun game
Omg this is me! I LOVE THICK CROWDS! ZigZagZigZagZigZag
I do this and then still bump into the thing
is this A Thing?Yes, doors and sideboards do this to me a lot, but at least all the wonderful little ADHD gremlins in my phone assure me i am not alone in the war on furniture.
I wear glasses, I don’t know what’s happening below my eyeline!

I found a YouTube link in your comment. Here are links to the same video on alternative frontends that protect your privacy:
I’m bad about side-swiping stuff but it’s because I’m min-maxing my movement and trying to hit the apex of every turn like a moron.
Lmfao. Just reminded me of the time i cut it too tight, crashed into a table, moved it half a foot, and had a thigh bruise to show for it. I have a blind cat though, so ive got a comrade in the struggle.
I have poor spacial awareness, I find I bump into things and catch my leg on coffee tables and such. I don’t have it as bad with directions but if I’m tired or having a tough day I can find it can make path finding in games more difficult.
I think it’s quite the opposite for me, at least in the pathfinding bit (I can navigate places I’ve only been to once with great precsision). I am very clumsy though. Had to carry two near full paper cups of coffee relatively far today. I made it, but it only reinforced the fact that I never want to be a waiter in my life. And I get caught on doorhandles on occasion.
I caught my trench coat really bad on a light pole on a “”“date”“” once and I laughed it off as hard as I could to avoid embaressment.
dyspraxia
I don’t think you need to pathologise a name for it. Sometimes you just bump into stuff. Hugs.
I bump into shit all the time; I didn’t really until I started unmasking
