Watching reviews from these couple of shmup-centric video game channels that do some good analysis but their fucking right-wing politics can’t help but pop out and I know for a fact that they think they’re hiding it. Even when not specifically referencing things, the actual structure of their videos mirrors right-wing/“apolotical” ragebait political YouTubers in terms of constantly patting themselves on the back with every point. They treat themselves and their audience as having access to secret knowledge that makes them better and everyone else that disagrees with them is either stupid or lying.

They also bitch about consumerism ruining games, but only in the sense of peple appreciating aspects of games that aren’t just pure-mechanics. Like, their analysis scheme collapses if they tried to review Shadow Of The Colossus because they’d be complaining about how mechanically boring the horse-riding sections would be to them.

I heard Joseph Anderson moved to New Brunswick, although I feel like I might have also heard that he’s miserable there, so maybe I’m stupid.
