I beat the Roaring freakin’ Knight in Chapter 3 without the shadow mantle yet this cat handed my ass to me so hard each time that I had to do the fight with easy bombs in order to finally win

Unfocus your eyes. You need to see broadly not sharply to dodge the bombs.
It’s weird because I was fine with bombs in Undertale with Mettaton, and I was fine with the bombs in Spamton Neos fight and found that easy too, this is the first one where I just cannot for the life of me muscle memory out of

It’s not that it’s a magic eye effect, it’s just easier to track multiple moving objects at once by unfocusing your eyes.

It took me a while to defeat her, but i found it to be the best fight in the game, even moreso than the Knight. The small bombs were the only part that sucked. I just adore her, absolute icon. Seeing how she looks out the window in the shop, living her best life while she shines brighter than the sunset is pure trans joy. I want that for Ralsei, too, I want that for every trans person out there.
Jevil, on the other hand, was a total nightmare and I fucking hate that damn clown, I spent two whole weeks after my bottom surgery trying to dodge these mfing spades and it hurt worse than my junk. I still get carousel flashbacks every time I hear The World Revolving.
I had the same experience where that jester had me in HELL for 2 weeks. I have never gotten the hang of those carousel attacks

Fun strategy facts about this fight:

Glowshards and Dog Dollars both give +3 Doki so if you focus on items and GigaFlirt theoretically you only need to dodge the bomber man style grid bombs once (which I had the most trouble with). Also the dummy you get in chapter 2 gives some protection.

You can get a higher defence armor that also protects from cat and puppet attacks if you combine the TennaTie with the FrayedBowtie

I needed the shadow mantle on Susie + a buncha revive mints and my spincake for the knight. Hatsune Miku I beat on day one with no items but it’s really mean what Mr. Fox does with the spare meter going up by 25% 
.I loved doing the tunnel bullet pattern, it just tickles my brain in the right way. I heard they added a hard mode but my ARM Linux steam install is not working so I’ll probably try again when chapter 6 rolls around and I need to provision my save files again.
The reason I beat the Knight without the mantle is really embarrassing. I like Tenna so much I couldn’t bear to kill his little 8-Bit avatar in the sword route game so I didn’t finish the mantle cause you need to do that to get it. I am such a big baby I can’t be mean to these Darkners.
