
What I love about Wendy is that she allowed for a CD release for the album a few decades ago, but hated the compression and thought it didn’t do the music justice, so she prohibited any further digital copies of her music from being made. That’s why you can’t stream the album on any legitimate service. I found an original pressing at a record sale a few years back and it’s awesome
Wendy Carlos is the shit, she really brought modern electronic music to the masses. Not only was Switched-on Bach hugely successful (only the second classical album to go platinum) and introduced a lot of people to synthesizers, but she was involved in developing the original Moog synthesizers which have gone on to be, basically the holy grail of analog synths and still extremely highly sought after. I’m not sure it’s possible to overstate her influence.
