My two cousins who live in Florida are white supremacists and love desantis like he’s the second coming of Jesus (they’re just OK with trump). They naturally also hate immigrants and want everybody deported. This would be utterly unremarkable for a couple of Floridians except for the fact that they’re half-Thai, the children of my white uncle and the Thai immigrant woman he brought back to the US after serving in Vietnam. My uncle was also anti-immigrant despite having married two immigrants (his second wife was from Spain and also hated immigrants lol). I just do not understand these people.

So if there is lots of infighting about who is practicing the “real” conservatism, I’m not surprised at all, since they argue over who is truly “maga”, too. I dont like MAGA on MAGA violence and would like it to stop but if it must continue can they at least accept that is what it is? I’m tired of the blame that everyone non-MAGA gets before the MAGA shooter inevitably gets caught.

I believe he was mormon. They are all far right, “not usually” violent, but far right. Hopefully just an outlier, but they are raised to be suspicious of anyone not mormon. That degree of extremism and paranoia could be problematic.

My wife was born and raised Mormon. When I first learned he was Mormon I looked at her and said blood atonement. Her whole face changed and she said, “better for one man to die, than a whole nation to perish”.
