If full time Walmart employees need government assistance programs to afford food and pay their rent, is it not Walmart who is leaning on government assistance?

  • How is it a good approach to formally mandate their cowardice on messaging? If something isn’t popular it has literally nothing to do with whether it’s correct. Also, we can all just look and see that billionaires and Israel are unpopular, yet they never concede those talking points. Why is it that they’d abandon the underprivileged minorities but not the power centers if it’s not all entirely about consolidating their power? That’s their real agenda and this only memorializes it.

Can you imagine a hero in a movie having these beliefs? It’s pathetic that they view politics as such a passive endeavor at a moment where we need activism more than ever.

  • Well, with conservatives, it’s always about targeting those they don’t like. I wouldn’t be surprised to see anti gun legislation coming from the right that holds those already owning guns immune, but new buyers since November 2024 ineligible. I think we more or less agree?

  • Circumstances change, that’s the main fundamental issue. At the same time, we don’t even check for problems during a lot of gun sales. I would say domestic abuse charges, history of suicidal behavior or terroristic threats, etc. There are at least lines we can draw without it being a free for all or a massive lockdown. Admittedly, it’s mostly so we can feel we’re at least trying something in the face of our children being killed that may actually make an impact in some of the examples.

  • Ironically, leftists are more in line with the constitution with our reasoning around gun ownership. In my book, anyone who isn’t happy with the lax state of gun laws is equally an ally and we shouldn’t draw lines in the sand for no reason. You can both own a gun and want it to be harder for people who shouldn’t get them to get them, it’s almost as silly as the “you criticize society and yet you participate in society” argument.

  • Finally got mine. It looks like I was wrong about getting a complete fill using that mechanism. Pilot’s vaccuum fill system is better in that regard, but still, I’m hard pressed to find a single thing wrong with the pen after using it. It’s super reliable, even partially filled. Plus, Draculea ink looks awesome splashing around in the giant reservoir.

  • “If I want to work with another politician, I have to fully collaborate with them,” said one creator who was offered the contract but ultimately declined to take it and asked not to be named. “If I get Zohran and he wants to [do an] interview with me, I don’t want to give that to them.”

Creators in the program are not allowed to use any funds or resources that they receive as part of the program to make content that supports or opposes any political candidate or campaign without express authorization from Chorus in advance and in writing, per the contract.

The fact that anyone signed these contracts really shows that it’s not new media that’s game-changing on the left, it’s the politics themselves. Even if the line was more thought out than, “Pokémon go to the polls” it’d still be vapid coming from someone who doesn’t speak to the issues or wants to means test and austerity check the assistance to death.
