0·25 days agoI find the shift in black and Hispanic responses interesting as well. They were higher than white people before and now lower.
Just like Russia, it’s all a shell game of .oving money around into different billionaires pockets.
It’s really not difficult to dig a trench through an existing parking lot to lay down wire.
It could also be that they needed to mud/tape around the opening for the plug in the drywall/plaster and it changed the consistency/chemical makeup just enough to not be as friendly to the growth of mold (less moisture/denser etc)

World News@lemmy.ml•Oil Prices Spike as Iran Denies U.S. Talks and Traders Refocus on Supply Risk
2·3 months agoMost trading these days is probably just AI and algorithms. They see a positive headline and starts making buys or selling stuff if it’s negative. It’s all a money printing machine for the rich and a casino for the poor.
People who are religious in the end have faith because they are selfish. They will perpetuate a religious belief that overall creates a worse world for everyone living (wars, enforced ideology, etc) in the hopes that they can have an afterlife of bliss and excess.

Climate@slrpnk.net•Bacteria in the ocean are starting to eat plastic. Let's think about this2·3 months agoThat seems quite fast.
How long have plastics been around? A century? Less?
When lignin in wood first evolved and trees became a thing 400 million years ago, it took about 100 million years before fungi evolved the ability to digest it.
There was 100 million years where wood wasn’t unable to decompose and just sat around or burned, creating all of our coal deposits.
100 years for something to evolve and decompose plastics seems lightning quick.

0·3 months agoEven so, it’s still healthier for everyone to have a single giant combustion engine producing electricity in a remote area instead of millions of tiny combustion engines spread out throughout entire cities and residential areas polluting the streets and neighbourhoods.
Easier to deploy other technologies like carbon capture, etc.

0·3 months agoYukon and Saskatchewan already don’t change their clocks.
I work in BC and Yukon and I always have to check if we are on the same time or and hour difference because I can never remember.
Going forward BC and Yukon will always be on the same time.

7·4 months agoIs it possible that healthy people typically also live lives that involves more dangerous activities such as mountain biking/hiking/watersports that would end in death prematurely?
Whereas unhealthy people might die of heart disease at 60 instead of 80, they also probably aren’t dying from a sporting accident at 30-40
And then someone decides to name a random planet simply “Steve”
How much do you wanna bet Trump wouldn’t be so gung ho on Greenland if he saw this map? He probably thinks he is going to double the size of America.

0·5 months agoThe big one looks like a shaggy mane to me but not the little ones… Either it’s not a shaggy mane or two different mushrooms are growing in the same spot which is weird, no?
Usually little shaggy manes look like little big shaggy manes, just not as shaggy, not tan in colour like that. Unless there are regional differences?
I can’t imagine it would be any different than a new gold mine opening up somewhere in the world.

Hey, you. Yeah, you. The person who currently is reading this and works for Microsoft. Fuck you. Quit your job and find something else.
Well not as an individual but the owners/caretakers of the land are legally required to remove it and remediate the area.
Depends on the rules. Some places it would be illegal to disturb anything in conservation areas like parks but other areas it would be illegal to ignore invasive plants and not remove them.

I feel like any lawyer should only be able to bill half their rate if they lose the case
