Time for another bloomer thread in which we post about the good stuff. Be it something big, like a major breakthrough with your org, some good news you want to share, or even something small like “hey, look at this cute bug!” This is a thread where we take a short moment to spread some joy in some very dark times. So if you have something nice to share, share it!
Got word that my work contract will be continued until August. Rent is covered for 5 months again!
Yesterday my comrade whom I met last month kissed me!!!
Omg smooches!

Meant to mention it in the last bloomer thread, but I saw a mole cricket, they’re really cool little bugs that you rarely see because they’re always underground, but it was rainy so I got to see it.
Also just reorganised my workflow and I’m already doing much better than what I previously was, now actively avoiding anything too corporate or “the proper way to do things” like quotas and deadlines, and it’s only made me much more productive and more importantly, much less stressed. Hopefully I’ll have more time to work on my side projects that I’ve been wanting to get to for ages.
Literal bloompost: it is finally starting to warm up and the leaves are coming back
Giving up on my house in Atlanta where I get sick from everything and moving to Asheville to breathe clean mountain air. I’ve been disabled painfully sick ever since COVID ravaged my body and left me immunocompromised. I just can’t tolerate the city, the old water damaged buildings, the air pollution from cars, my body is breaking under the stress and I can’t work or grow as a person. I’m instantly cured whenever I visit Western North Carolina; why am I throwing my life away when I could be healthy again?
I’ve recently met some very special people in the area and been feeling all the signs are there. I got invited to a cougar party out at a lovely property secluded in the woods outside the city and I’m sitting in a hot tub with all these sexy older ladies under a full moon finally able to accept that it’s time to GTFO out of Atlanta.
This city elf about to trade the Nissan LEAF for a 1992 Chevy S10 and take this show to the mountains.
Recently did a big hike up a mountain with a friend, about an 8 hours round trip. It was hecka tough, but we prepped and we (just about) made it without giving up. We’re both weird awkward people, but we’ve always been chill, and keyly, we came back closer friends for it.
Gives me a warm feeling to know we’ll always have that memory
If you and a family member/friend are capable, totally recommend it - Do a hike or something else that pushes you both just like, 10% beyond your limits.I saw a bug, shared in the general mega resharing here
cute bug I saw on a walk
Thumbnail size, waving its little antennae. I’ll see if I can id it
Metallic shield bug Scutiphora pedicellata
10/10 bug, would smooch his little noggin
Sitting recovering from my surgery. I can already tell it has made a difference.
