So many breadtubers fell off hard, but I struggle to think of any who have fallen off as hard as Contrapoints:

    • Both sidesing the Palestinian genocide
    • Buddying up with Hillary
    • Anti-veganism
    • Being racist about tofu
    • Weird ultraleftism about a DSA event in a church

And that’s just off the top of my head.

To the contrary, there was never a “falling off” moment, they’ve always been meek liberals, their videos didn’t have any meat, any substance to them, they just seemed radical to many because YT was pushing people like charlie-kirk shapiro-gavel and peterson-pill-dinner for the first time, if you go back to some of the videos from the “golden era” your jaw will drop at how… pointless they are, it’s just continuous meandering, and I don’t think they really even helped in the “deradicalisation” of normies, they just turned some hogs into liberals, yippie how great is that shrug-outta-hecks

I was always trying to point out at the time that her videos lacked any depth, she barely investigated any idea or challenged her own ideas with counter examples. it was just a handful of quotes cited to some important people, as if you could begin to understand the work of those authors from those quotes alone, and you were left with an 3 hour video which doesn’t even have 25% of the content you’d be presented in a college level lecture, for which a single topic of study would contain 30 such lectures a semester.

I was always shouted down with “le pipeline” and “that’s too hard, you want everything to be unfun and serious all the time. you’re gonna tell me to read theory next? I’m actually in these streets, doing direct action and mutual aid, making a real difference I can’t tell you about because opsec” and also “it’s good for us to having someone making introductory[sic] videos with high production values” which was baffling, She wasn’t like Captain Disillusion or Chris Young, since clearly the money wasn’t being used to give the content more clarity or scope.

If you’re familiar with Yugopnik (yeah ik another YT mf, sorry) his leftist funnel theory has these “tumour growths” that represent people on “the pipeline” whose only goal is to suck up potential baby leftists and retain them as an audiance, thus preventing them from going further downwards, it was referenced and basically confirmed that she was one of those unnamed tumours mentioned in the vid, lol

Under Capitalism, it’s a major contradiction for content creators that they have to choose between making content that is useful vs. Stuff that gets eyeballs. But then these people all have Patreons so they shouldn’t care about making an “unpopular” if it’s what their Pateron supporters want. Seems like the same problem all creative face where having a roof over their heads beats being “authentic” and homeless.

Is it possible the reefer is beneficial despite the findings of this study? bugs-no

    no. medicine cant be enjoyable.
no. feeling good has no curative or neuroprotective benefit.
no. you can’t just decide to go through life in a non-sober state of mind.
no. you have to stay and suffer like mee who gets too anxious on the reefer to relax.
no. the reefer doesn’t make beanis posts funnier or more interesting.
no. your subjective experience of your mental health is irrelevant to assessing your mental health.
no. my attitude towards this stuff is perfectly rational and not at all poisoned by the unexamined impact of protestantism on my beliefs.
no. there are no records of historical or present day indigenous communities consuming mild psychotropics daily to augment routine boring work.
no. my hot mug of pumpkin spiced bean juice is completely different.
no. the number of cannabinoid receptors in your body and brain is just a coincidence.

sorry leftists. the truth hurts doesn’t it.

You can’t convince me that this isn’t just her projecting her insecurity about her own addiction

The delusions of the hash fiend bear no resemblance to honest opiate addiction, or straightforward alcoholism. Consider the humble crackhead. We know we’re d*generates, we know we have a problem. Only the reefer addict insists he’s achieved a higher state of consciousness through his depravity.

And there we are (censoring mine)

      100%.

That’s the most annoying thing about her downfall, it can’t even be entertaining in the typical slop way because of how blatant narcissistic pity party it is. Usually there’s something interesting in the way the politics act as an overly convoluted scaffolding for the hangups and pathology. But with her it’s so naked and obvious that it’s just grating. It’s just, STFU, stop making everything about you, get off twitter, and go to a therapist.

She built her fame off making videos about people with the worst takes and now starts every argument by building a straw man to take down. She’s only comfortable arguing against stupid people and constructs a stupid person to argue with.

it’s like 1/3 no effect, 1/3 does something but side effects are intolerable, and 1/3 helpful and tolerable

seems unreasonable to me that we make attempts that have less than a 50% chance of expected success

Like all psychoactive substances, it varies from person to person. I have been on SSRIs at one point and I just dropped them after months of mostly experiencing just annoying side effects. A friend of mine is okay with them and told me they genuinely help her be functional.

  • This is really silly because the culture war is so past being druggies vs anti-druggies. The right has their own woke and so they have their own medicinal recreational drug use like kratom. Nazis push mushrooms and tech CEOs microdose LSD to increase productivity. The clean and sober right has simply caved to economic pressure of monetizing alternative medicine. Everyone is on drugs.

The real take here, if you are a professional takesmith, is how the type of drugs you use relate to your politics. But she’s too much of a dipshit to actually understand that she’s out of touch. Meanwhile the young Nazis are probably talking about how weed is for removed while meth is the noble white man’s cure-all. Remember that Collarbone promotes the use of meth to stay fit. That’s exactly the kind of take that in vogue.

Using the term ‘junkies’ derogatorily really tells me all I need to know. Adopting the dehumanizing language of the bad guys is always a sign you’re progressing towards something good

okay but isn’t she not actually an addict? i haven’t kept up with natalie related slop but my understanding was she literally just took her prescribed after-surgery painkillers and then claimed to have an addiction, presumably for either sympathy or street cred

like the drug equivalent of taking a tour bus through a poor neighborhood and then claiming you were raised in a shack with only dirt to eat.
