    a while back chapo (and I think Matt specifically) was making the point that art is being smoothed over. Rough surfaces, anything that might stick in your craw, anything that might engender some discomfort in the audience, was being being discouraged in new media and flat out removed from old media (They were complaining that the ponytail sex was cut from streaming Avatar (blue, not Aang))

    and like what is a Large Language Model but a machine for smoothing out language. Turning peaks and troughs int o a nice, easily digestible curve. Except. Whats the fucking point of language, if not for dealing with the fiddly bits of the world? Might as well gesture at things and go “ook”.
