Wasn’t sure what to expect, I’m really not a fan of games-turned-movies or movies-turned-games but it’s pretty ok so far. Currently on first season episode six, Joel and Ellie just found his brother in Wyoming. Things seem to have gone sour between Joel and his brother.

I’m not really a superhero movie type of guy, but is Peacemaker worth watching? How about The Boys? Recommendations of all types are welcome. I enjoy the rec’s I get here.

No spoilers please, btw.

To me, Peacemaker ended at just about the time where the fundamental premise of the show got tiresome. So there’s that. Lanterns was much better than I expected.

The Boys starts strong but probably should have ended with season 3.

I’m currently watching some older adult animated shows. Ugly Americans is an interesting look at civil service bureaucracy, and China, Il does the same for community college. Superjail was too avant-garde even for me.

Babylon 5! It’s amazing. Season 1 is a bit of a slog until the 2/3rds mark on a first watch. On a second your mind is blown by how much subtle setup there js for events way down the line. It is absolutely peak shit

That’s the nineties sci-fi show right? I remember flipping channels and catching bits of it here and there back when it was current, if it’s what I’m thinking of.

Edit - it is the show I was thinking of. I’ll have to give it a shot.

As I said, you gotta hack through the first bit, I bounced off a few times before finally getting into it. Basically the dude who created the show had been pitching it around for years and had the whole story figured out beforehand, the firsr season he was still under network control a bit but it gradually loosens until he’s the only writer for every episode, then the network starts going under and they gotta rush the ending. They roll with some punches but the overall story was planned before the show started so season 1 is like a prologue and also trtong to please the networks a bit, so it comes off a bit more generic sci fi, but just stick with it and you’re in for one of the best pieces of fiction ever.

Then I’ll really have to give it a shot. I wasn’t really into sci-fi when it first came out so I just dismissed it mostly, but I’ll be downloading it and putting it into jellyfin this week. I think it’s what I’ll watch next. Thanks for the recommendation.

There’s a TV movie pilot called The Gathering. Make sure you watch that before episode 1, sometimes torrents have it filed with the other tv movies that came out after the series.
