Honestly surprised he didn’t say it was himself that ran into the towers and saved people. Close enough I suppose.
I mean he’s weirdly honest about that sort of thing sometimes:

He has a sales pitch mode and a schmooze mode.
That one really made me laugh, because… We know? That’s why we don’t have lifeguards in their 80s. No one ever thought the 80 year old politician would dive into the water and save a kid!

trump was the plane and the tower, and the man being carried away and the first responders who carried him away. he was the pavement beneath their feet, the air they breathed, the soft sound of their clothing. he was the memory of summers in childhood.
