First mega wooo, now I get to have my inbox flooded!
Friendship ended with coffee, now tea is my best friend. No promises but I’ll try to post about a different tea each day!

Yesterday I had a pot of Assam CTC with some golden monkey mixed in because I ran a little short… oops! Unsurprisingly very tasty. Today I’m going for bi luo chun. I have two, but today I’m going for the nicer one because fuck it, it’s tea week, yolo. They’re both good, but this one has a little sweeter flavor and doesn’t tend to get as bitter. It’s also the harder one to get ahold of 😭
how do you source your good stuff? happy tea week! i’ve also been cracking open the good stuff
I get my Japanese teas from Yoshien and my Chinese ones from Nannuoshan. They’re both German stores, but Nannuoshan also has one in the US, so if you want the good stuff, then that’s where I’d take a look. They also have a Youtube channel, if you want to nerd out about tea or teaware. They’re really passionate about their hot beverages.
What a lot of American tea drinkers usually do is import the tea themselves via Yunnan Sourcing because it’s cheaper, but these teas aren’t as curated, so the chance of getting a dud is quite a bit higher.
In any case, getting a sample before committing to a larger bag, especially when it comes to very expensive tea, is certainly not a bad idea. And I also VERY MUCH recommend to get a gaiwan and learn how to gongfu. It really brings out the best out of most teas and you can already get one for just 10 bucks
Unfortunately I don’t really know, I just go back to where I went to college on occasion and hit the tea shop there and check out their special teas area! Happy tea week :)
