I find most things described as “struggle sessions” tend to be one or two people very loudly arguing against everyone else and refusing to ever back down and just digging themselves deeper and deeper into a corner, it’s more about stubbornness than any actual struggle sessions.

There’s a reason struggle sessions are important in IRL organising, we all have brainworms that need to be expunged, and sometimes we need to seriously discuss even a silly topic and examine our own thoughts and opinions and self-critique in order to improve our understanding of things, but often we can’t realise this on our own, we need our comrade’s help in discussing these. Sometimes there is a contentious issue that a group needs to have a party line on, even if that line is “we all disagree, so we don’t talk about it and waste too much time arguing instead of building each other up.” A group doesn’t need to have a complete agreement with each other in all things, but they do need to be principled, and they get there via discussion, and sometimes a discussion is a struggle session, it’s a struggle because self-improvement hurts and is difficult to do, but it is necessary.

And I know this is badposting but what if we took badposting seriously for a day, as a bit?
