Class interest truly triumphs all principles.
I would point out, he’s 83. It’s possible he’s just getting manipulated be people.
Scorsese sucks in plenty of other ways, don’t take this as an endorsement of him.
Retiring is an option (for him)
At that age people are pretty suggestible, even if they’re in good health. It’s easy for elderly people to get manipulated by their kids.
who cares? He’s basically on deaths doorstep at this point he’s like 90 years old or some shit
But yeah I feel like I keep hearing stories about old as fuck celebrities continuing their careers WAY past when they should have retired and suspect a lot of the time people around them (family, producers, managers) are pressuring them into stuff to milk money out of them before they pass. I would bet money that’s what was going on with Bruce Willis where he kept appearing in awful direct to TV movies when it was clear he was having neurological problems.
I’m not actually that surprised coming from him. All his best movies were either directorial-gun-for-hire adaptations of existing work, or were co-written with authors who did most of the real writing work.
His BEST movies were made while doing mountains of coke with Liza Minnelli
The thing is… why?
Storyboards are literally rough sketches; a vibe of the scene and flow. He’s vibing in his vibing! Yo dawg…

Xhibit meme? :whatyearisit:
It’s more likely than you think!
X to the Z
Seems like a big difference between storyboarding with AI and using AI to do set/character/costume design, or make the end product. Then again, if I was an auteur filmmaker I’d probably be too particular about the specific camera angles and such to have this really speed things up.
Didnt he just say Marvel movies “werent cinema” and were more like amusement rides? “All that whining” seemed more like it came from all the Marvel fans. Its been years and it still gets brought up like it was anything more than a remark in an interview.
The AI is cringe tho. But so was megalopolis. Something fascinating about how his biggest flops are when he leaves the studio system - like with One From The Heart. Also something fascinating about the story in megalopolis as seen as a metaphor for how he sees himself.
Then again when I made movies with my friends my story boarding sucked because I coildnt draw. Would have loved some sort of tool for it. Seems like one of the few usecases where
an algorithma programan appa neural networkan AI is useful.Agreed on the Marvel remark but I believe you’re thinking of FF Coppola with Megalopolis and One From the Heart
Whoops Yeah. I always mix those two up
old white movie guys are all the same to me
uh ohhh, you poked the sacred cowww
I’m surprised because he’s a big fan of Kurosawa, who made storyboards that were works of art in themself. https://faroutmagazine.co.uk/akira-kurosawa-hand-painted-storyboards/
