The “Buy European” movement in a nutshell
Chauvinist (international) liberal movement who think their imperialism is more “civilized” than yankees and still look down on third world markets and development? sounds about right. The inevitable european century of humiliation (the american one is already happening
) will be incredible
The “Buy European” crowd tends to think neocolonialism doesn’t exist and that imperialism is over, and is just an “American thing Americans do.” Might be a hot take, but I actually think the breakdown is going to impact Europe before the US Empire actually breaks, as right now the US is pulling out of Europe and sabotaging any chance for Europe to pivot to friendlier relations with Russia/China, which Europe needs in order to cover for less US support and the imperialist war on Iran spiking LNG prices and cutting access.
The US Empire is falling, but the actual crisis seems to be more apparent in Europe right now.
I agree with your assessment tbh, the US has (albeit collapsing) soft and hard power, the EU has much less of their own and rely much more on the US. The empire will first lose their power and vassals in Eurasia/Africa, then retreat to Latin America as their “backyard”, then their collapse will be inevitable.
And 100%. I have the displeasure of sharing many spaces with eurolibs/euro"socialists" … They seem to think imperialism is only a US thing and they are, at best, victims of them themselves , at worst think they themselves are anti-imperialist.
A lot of this ties to Europe’s social progress and welfare. The contrast with an American liberal and European liberal is, an American liberal will (even if deflecting blame off themselves or their party) admit some sort of shame regardless of reason, and a small acknowledgement of the US’s imperialism, lack of welfare and the capitalist system (well, best case for a liberal I guess).
Europeans do not feel shame at all, since the EU has much more social nets (funded through imperialism, but european Neo-colonialism is a much more buried topic than American) and social progress, they think of themselves as the best and most civilized people in the world, due to them thinking they are not imperialist, have good welfare and “regulated” capitalism.
This, of course, ignores the fact the only reason Europe has been able to “develop” this much is, they are both neocolonial, but are able to spend on welfare due to the US covering a huge part of their military costs (I.e. US funding 50% of NATO budget). The moment NATO became shaky this term under trump, we’re already seeing the welfare nets deteriorate rapidly and already Germany demands younger men ask for permission to leave the country, all in the name of remilitarizing the continent lol
Its a long winded comment and disorganized, but I think the US is the beating heart and the body of the empire, Europe is the second largest organ (obviously, does not compare to the US itself, but they have some degree of autonomy within the empire, free to exploit others by themselves). Since the US is the core they are the ones who cover the costs of military and “defense”, at the cost of their own domestic people. Europe being a smaller partner of the empire, enjoys the opposite; more imperial spoils for the workers and bourgeoisie at the cost of dependence and barely any actual defense capabilities.
That’s why both EU libs smugness of superiority is bullshit, and their ridiculous push to cut the US off. You rely on the US on your existence, there is a clear socialist alternative for these people yet they still believe they can continue to be a “beacon of liberal civilization”, without the US’s life support, and why the whole buyeuropean movement is hogwash that relies on chauvinism built on nothing, and they’d collapse without the US.
I should make it clear though (preaching to the choir in a leftist space, but still good to say) this is not criticizing European comrades or actual anti-imperialist/progressive movements there, only the false liberal nationalist ones.
TLDR Yankee libs less annoying because they criticize US militarism sometimes, but EU libs are shameless and smug
(9 paragraphs including this one about how much I hate eurolibs lmao, and even then I still feel dissatisfied with this messy explanation
God willing I shall write a paper on the evils of the salty Asian subcontinent, with much more organization and with much more rubles to support it
)No, you said this very well! 100% agreed, and another angle to explore is the impact on the ideological front for liberalism. The expansion of democratization in the US happened direcrly alongside the conquest, genocide, and enslavement of everyone that wasn’t white, creating a semi-landowner class almost like the yeomanry many settlers decended from.
In Europe, this same process happened, but alongside colonization, rather than settler-colonialism. The bourgeois democratization movements in the metripoles existed alongside the most brutal and savage treatment of the colonies, only this time separated by the ocean waters and land mass.
This type of “Herrenvolk Democracy,” or “democracy for the master-race,” is what shaped how the US and European bourgeois societies formed. The US Empire is incredibly brutal in its ongoing treatment of EMPOC, but the Europeans have developed a blindness towards their own guilt by focusing on the more naked brutality of the US Empire.
Basically pulled this from Losurdo’s article Lenin and Herrenvolk Democracy, which I’ve been reading (alongside some Amilcar Cabral and Comintern stuff), lol. You are spot-on!
Question is, how long will the continent put up with absorbing the fallout of America’s decline that America shifts from itself to them before the political and economic strain is too much? Right now the Russo-Ukrainian war has upped the tolerance, but once that comes to some sort of conclusion, it’s going to become increasingly obvious that Europe is getting the short end of the stick on the deal and that China is offering much better terms.
It all points, imo, to the American downfall as being one of those “gradually and then all at once” scenarios. Eventually the one key support pillar will crack, we probably don’t even know for sure which one it is, and everything quickly snowballs around its collapse.
Yep, that’s true! That’s why even France is pushing back more, alongside countries like Italy and Spain. The collapse in unity between the US Empire and the EU is the next step in the fall of the US Empire’s global domination.
wasn’t her grandfather deported to siberia for collaboration with nazi/generaleplan ost pogroms and running a volunteer wing of paramilitary secret police?
how these families / elite people rapidly ascend back to the heights of NATO and the broader EU political structure is so fucking gnarly.
and people will still claim stalin was too harsh, despite the evidence to the contrary that the monsters rise back up as soon as the opportunity arises.
Her entire family was deported to Siberia, including her mother at only 6 months old, her grandmother, and great grandmother. I have been looking for a source with the inclusion of accusations/proof against her grandfather but haven’t located one yet.
I’m against the framing of what happened in Soviet Controlled Eastern Europe as a “Double Genocide,” but let’s not conflate the collective punishment and ethnic cleansing that did occur with the justified actions taken against legitimate targets.
The problem wasn’t lack of harshness, it was lack of precision and sloppiness.
I have contacts to families deported to Siberia, who chose to stay there and I can guarantee they weren’t Elites. It can be fun to joke around sometimes, but it really is difficult to get young people over here into socialism when they go see what y’all are posting and they interpret this shit as: “Stalin should have killed all of you.”
I never really taught about it much, but it probably isn’t that good being constantly reminded how my family should have been cleansed, for the sake of socialism.
Hesbollah must disarm
What, so Lebanon is even more of a sitting duck to Israeli bombing and invading? This is the rot within the “international rules and order” crowd, they’ll finger wag at both parties, but when it comes actual consequences it’s only the countries outside of the imperial core that get them, those within suffer nothing more than the talking down to.
Mahatma Gandhi non-violence during the Holocaust moment
Oh it’s her, the estonian supernazi.
I love how little this narrows it down out of context
I’d be happier if I never had to hear anything from Kaja Kallas again.
May the axis of resistance bring Israel to it knees

I will never understand why most British leftists are pro-EU
They filled it full of Nazis back when it was created and it’s still full of Nazis now.
The aggressor doesn’t have a right to defend itself.
The partisans dragged France into the war, but Nazi Germany’s right to defend itself does not justify inflicting such massive devastation.
The partisans must disarm. The allied forces supports Vichy France’s efforts to disarm the partisans.
Just realized this analogy actually makes the Iran war look even worse than WW2 because it’d be like if the US helped the Nazis during the war and the Nazis did a ceasefire with the USSR while still bombing a smaller state that still has people resisting.
Is it just me or does Europe have a lot more conventional 1930s fascism in it than the US? US is plenty fascist but they’re not high on the old school Nazi shit. You can probably name several european polititicans that are actual admirers of Mussolini and Hitler, which is still fringe here.
Why would yanks ape eurofascism when they have their own homegrown fascism
It’s incredible the consistency the Baltic states have for producing the most irritating people.
I’m starting to believe the conspiracy theory (many people are saying it) that Kaja Kallas was genetically engineered in a lab to be as irritating as possible.
At least nazism is an ideology. These are nihilists.
