Calling it right now, when global warming gets so bad that nobody can deny that we’re causing it, any of these bills that pass are going to stop any attempt at climate control.
That’s probably the idea. We should agree that weather modification is bad, pass these bills, then turn around and define oil and gas operations as activity designed to modify weather.
Once again, they’re calling for the government to stop messing with things, when the actual problem is the private sector messing with things.

No, but the government is, ostensibly, the one entity with the power to reign them in. The problem is that capitalism has superseded democracy, and is a direct challenger to it as a form of, or superstructure to, government.
It is incompatible with democracy, as money is power, so the more of it you have, the more power over society you wield, a concept that stands in direct conflict to the very foundations of democracy.
