The rabid bipartisanship makes me think this is a letter the fed wrote and forced him to sign.
Luigi’s actions scared the status quo because they emboldend the left. This sort of shit reads like an attempt to tame that into centrism.
I’m not saying Luigi was a leftist before being arrested, he wasn’t, but you can’t tell me he still thinks the US and it’s two major parties are great after the way he’s been treated. Particularly as when he was in court he shouted about how his arrest was a insult to the American people.
He has dumb politics, but not this dumb.
Yeah, I know Americans have nonsensical politics, but I can’t imagine someone this aggressively centrist ever actually doing what he did.
His legal team would be a very plausible explanation as well. It checks a lot of boxes in appealing as broadly and mildly as possible.
