I stomached looking at his truth social account so you don’t have to:

Melania and I are saddened to hear about Joe Biden’s recent medical diagnosis. We extend our warmest and best wishes to Jill and the family, and we wish Joe a fast and successful recovery.

I guess some pr person has his phone today. He’ll probably say something stupid in an interview later.

Stage 4 cancer with metastasis? Not gonna make it. No amount of money or power can stop a dead man walking.

But it does make ya wonder why he wanted to run for a second term. He probably won’t make it to the end of the current administration.

He won’t live long enough to see the major impact of slow rolling Trump’s arrest.

I wish cancer got the other guy, but I feel no sympathy for an old racist who betrayed various words and didn’t fight back against the fascist hard enough.

Look at the average age of congress. Look at what Dianne Feinstein was doing at the end of her life. They don’t want power. It’s all automatic to them at this point. They don’t know now to do anything else then grab and hold as much power as possible without any reason or purpose.

Anything is possible. Prostate cancer is far more common than most people realize…there is an easy to remember true statistic – 80% of all men over 80 have prostate cancer. That’s 4 out of 5. It very often tends to be so slow growing that it’s simply not an issue, really, you’ll have more pressing health concerns that will kill you first.

It’s good to check, then once it is identified, either dealt with or monitored with regular frequency.

While this represents a more aggressive form of the disease, the cancer appears to be hormone-sensitive which allows for effective management.

Feels like more of the same strategy of downplaying Biden’s symptoms. I bet when he dies they’ll deny it for a few days.

I don’t disagree that there is a strategy of downplaying not just Biden’s, but every politician’s health conditions.

I used to have this absolutely incredible writing professor, who, at 85, told us on the first day of class that he was dying, and had been for 4 years. He even had a blog about his reflections on mortality that he invited us to read. He had prostate cancer. I don’t remember the details, but they couldn’t operate to remove it or do chemo, but it was the kind that is hormone sensitive. They gave him a drug that destroyed his body’s ability to produce testosterone, so the cancer just stopped growing. He died at 90 - 9 years after his diagnosis. 10% extra life for him.

No two people and prognosis’ are alike but the possibility exists they might be telling the truth about managing it.

the form is still hormone sensitive so its treatable, to an extent, obvious with metasis is lower, but prostate usually have good prognosis, but that depends other factors.

much like breast cancers that are hormone sensitive, they are treatable, the ones that triple negative or the rare IBC those are very aggressive and they are not affected by anti-hormone therapy.

        “Move?!”

You make it sound like moving houses. Just pack your shit and drive off. Most countries don’t want us, especially if someone wasn’t born lucky enough to be able to go to college, and has some formal education. Even if that was easy, it’s fucking EXPENSIVE. thousands of dollars. A lot of us are barely getting by, and a lot more don’t have the luxury of spending thousands to go to another country. And all that, to move to a place where you won’t have citizenship without lots of work, and hell, If facism takes over that country I’ll get kicked out. Not to mention leaving my entire family behind.

All this assumes I’m moving to an English speaking country, otherwise I’ll have a language barrier at the same time I’m trying to rebuild my entire existence in a new place with unfamiliar culture.

There’s probably so much more. It’s not impossible, but for me it’s not feasible at this time. I desperately wish it was.

Edit: sorry if I came off as a dick here, it’s just frustrating seeing the thing I want so bad (to leave) simplified so much. Especially if you didn’t grow up here.

Skills and education? Most Americans have neither of those things. We are a disposable people and that’s exactly what the corporate slaveowners want. We can’t escape because we are less valuable to other countries which means it’s easier to exploit us. What are we going to do about it, kill our masters? That’s not nice.

I am trying to talk my husband into moving. I can probably land the job in the EU I am interviewing for, but he does NOT want to move. He doesn’t want to leave the small amount of community we have. He doesn’t want to overreact in fear to this administration. He doesn’t want to give up our home and our lifestyle (the EU pays substantially less across many industries). Our parents are getting older and sicker; it’s hard to move abroad when you know there’s probably only a handful of years left with them, especially when you have children.

I think the Internet discounts how difficult it can be to uproot.

The real problem was the Democratic party making tactically poor move after tactically poor move. They were too obsessed with imperial support of Israel to do the right thing for US interests and the voters. They were too “anti-communist” to consider not banning TikTok and alienating younger voters. They were willing to cede the narrative to the right constantly. They refused to give the left any progressive policy goals to chew on despite us yelling about how much all of this would fuck with turnout.

For the past 2 years, they thought corporate ads and ultraconservative libs would win the election, when that wasn’t what helped them in the midterms, hasn’t been the playbook in decades, and was just what let them hang out with their “good ole Republican friends” who they really wish they could ally with like in the 90s. It was a load of interpersonal bullshit, purposefully engineered by the ruling class to ensure the Democratic leadership would never sacrifice capitalism for liberal democracy’s sake.

I’m tired and disgusted of this “blame the left” narrative, especially since plenty of liberals could tell that this was the Democrat’s biggest issue for quite a while. They never did anything to address it because the fix wasn’t easy. They went with the easy solution and expected voters to pick up the slack. That’s not how electoral politics works; Lazy, irresponsible bastards

cancers can grow very quickly in the short amount of time, only takes weeks for a tumor to grow large suddenly if its an aggressive type. also many cancers, like melanoma can spread with a small tumor extremely fast. the staging depends on how much its spread, and also by the biopsy how much it infilitrated the layers of tissues.

Maybe I’m cynical but I feel like this is suspicious timing to release this information a day after videos of his memory issues in 2023 surfaced. Feels like a cynical attempt by his PR team to change the narrative.

In all honesty, an 82 year old man having prostate cancer is not very surprising. It is a personal issue and I have sympathy but it’s frankly not important to the world. A US president with memory issues concealed from voters and his own party in 2023 when it could have seriously changed decisions about the Democratic party nominations is surprising. That is an issue for everyone and very important to the world.

It’s not just Biden s team. Its the entire media consent apparatus build around the DNC that was responsible for Biden being around as long as he was.

        They’re all culpable.
