To be fair, the last time the DNC got behind a progressive candidate for president, Nixon won like 48 states and it hasn’t really recovered since. It’s not hard to see why they are still in fear of that event. The issue seems to be the rotting shrubbery infesting politics from a lack of term limits.

Corps knew the average voter is dumb and used those prices to tank Harris’ campaign all because she had the gall to suggest a wealth tax, something they had snuffed out Biden’s chances with. Even if the president has no control over prices, people believe they do. It was over for this country the moment we got the Citizen United ruling. Things were being setup to make it easier to get, but that ruling allowed unmitigated greed to influence politics. Been a growing pool of unfathomable wealth and the leverage of that wealth since.

Thanks for the comment. They have information on their site about how to set up various clients, including qBittorrent, to update the Proton VPN port. The issue is, it doesn’t work, so every time I reboot (seldom as this is a server machine with services running), I just have to update the connection port for qBt. I don’t doubt the port for both the VPN and qBt are the issue, but I also know that’s usually the first thing that gets pointed out when specifying trouble with some network-based, port-opening software.
With paid sub, I believe, you can use Proton VPN with their torrent servers including ports they forward. It changes every time, however. I think it’s just me and Windows. I think I’m nearing the time to switch my daily driver to Linux and, if successful, I’ll move my server to a Linux distro soon after, as well!
Not a problem. I use IRC and Usenet (in the past) for most of my searches, but some things are too old to be on those and in any condition to work after download. Proton VPN provides specific servers for port forwards (maybe only on paid subs), but that makes no difference when I provide it to the client. The search for a fix continues!
You and I are in similar boats, except I only gave Windows 11 a single install on my personal gaming rig before going back to 10. With the threat of 10 going EoL, I’ll be forced to move to Linux soon, myself. After working in PC and Windows troubleshooting for over 20-years all my foyers into Linux have been met with self-imposed damage resulting in an abandoment of Linux. This happened with spare computers or server setups since Windows Vista.
I’m nervous about the future of my gaming addiction, but will not use Windows 11.
