Yeah the symmetry seems satisfying, but doesn’t really stand up to scrutiny if you actually think it through.

I’ve never seen a socialist call an anarchist a liberal, and I’ve been both at various points. Also you forgot the liberal calling all 4 radicals and terrorists.

You’re not hanging out in campist spaces enough. I have been snarled at and banned from hexbear comms for “liberalism”

Over the last ~10 years i have spent a shitload of my not-insignificant amount of free time in various far-left spaces on the internet, but I suppose I haven’t seen every last crazy mofo out there. Also, calling an opinion ‘liberalism’ is different than calling an anarchist a liberal.

A lot of people got trolled by hexbear users when they migrated here from Reddit by posting pictures of pigshit and calling anyone mad about it a shitlib.

Some are still angry, two years on.

I have not, but I spent a shitload of time over the past ~10 years in numerous leftist spaces on Reddit and elsewhere. I suppose there’s a chance the socialists on those instances are more cranky and less accurate than everywhere else on the internet, but I’m skeptical.

The hammer and sickle is a tankie symbol. Tankies call everyone they disagree with a lib, which absolutely includes anarchists.

The hammer and sickle is a socialist symbol, of which tankies are a tiny subset, if you’re even using the word correctly (to mean people who unironically support everything authoritarian communist regimes do), which I doubt on the basis of your ‘knowledge’ of socialist symbols. Also I’m an anarchist, and while we have our disagreements, I’ve never been called a liberal by anyone on the left.

The symbol originates from Soviet Union, and was adopted by other “socialist” regimes around the world, so I guess describing it as a ‘symbol of authoritarian socialist regimes’ would be more accurate idk

You know which three. Don’t make me spell it out which one is spot on.

As an anarchist myself, I would not call libertarians or state communists fascists. All 3 are bad, but in different ways and for different reasons.

And if we’re standing against fascists, I’ll stand side-by-side with a communist or a libertarian. But I’ll never stand side-by-side with a fascists against anyone for any reason.
