      Spot on.

I also remember there being a discussion here a few days ago about how major of an issue antisemitism is, which is indeed 100% true. Antisemitism exists and is antithetical to any liberation movement.

But then people start claiming how antisemitism is the single largest hate-movement targeting an ethnic minority ever, which is so factually untrue, its most likely a Zionist coopting antisemitism for furthering their own agenda.

Jewish people command more social and tangible capital than almost any other ethnic minority in the US. They have more representation and institutional support than most other minorities.

In contrast, Natives and African Americans in the US have neither social, nor tangible capital. They have token representation in major institutions, and even that is treated like some huge favour done unto them.

Antisemitism is, for the most part, completely ideological and rarely transcends into material reality for Jewish people. For Native Americans and African Americans, the hatred they face is very very material, because they have almost no means to move up the social ladder. They’re disenfranchised on a material level, where they don’t even have access to the means of improving their material conditions in any significant way

Again, antisemitism definitely is an issue and must be addressed every time it manifests, but I’m not going to pretend like its the single greatest tragedy ever. Even the holocaust I don’t consider that. There’s been worse atrocities than that, which never got attention in the mainstream because the victims weren’t Europeans

Always a good sign when they’re treating it like you can’t go “too far” or else you become a bad guy, centrism is the only way. The most anti-semitism I’ve seen on the “far-left” are a few takes which make me go kind of fry at someone for being a little too eager to see Zionists get their comeuppance, being more focused on the pain and suffering than the righting of wrongs. But any actual anti-semites get sussed out pretty damn quick and kicked out of any actual leftist group.

I mean we turn up our nose at this but I’ve seen people casually conflate Judaism with Zionism on this site many times. Like a Jewish person is posted about in a context that has nothing to do with Palestine and posters make comments presuming that theyre zionists.

I might be guilty of this? When people say something antisemitic I just leave the conversation instead of trying to correct them. I am tired.

This is the problem, but it’s not anyone’s fault but Israel. They spent generations convincing the world that Zionism == Judaism.

I mean we should still not allow actual antisemites to have the floor, but it can be difficult to tell now and that’s absolutely by design.
