stayed in a hotel recently during a hockey tournament. kids were banging on doors and intentionally hitting the same door more than once. they knocked paint off the interior of my door frame doing this, because they hit it extra hard due to the do not disturb sign.
I took a walk after a while and noticed that this behaviour was clearly visible from the lobby where the parents were hanging out, you could hear the banging sounds echoing through the stairwell fifteen feet away.
I was very close to losing my shit on them, but I didn’t want it to be worse the next day

I hate being expected to observe holidays that were created on a foundation of racial and cultural obliteration.
I would like to add a holiday that once celebrated peace, but now celebrates militarism and war: Veterans Day (US). Not long ago, it was St. Martin’s day, a feast that commemorates a Roman soldier who abandoned his military office to become a monk. It was customary to sign peace treaties on his feast day for this reason. Included in this was Armistice Day, the end of World War 1. Eventually in the US this was changed to Veterans Day in 1954.
That I can’t find a job in America.

Their owners don’t want their American workers to start getting ideas that they have the right to more time off and better work life balance. So they shove all the holidays in the end of the year to give them something to look forward to and shut up and work for that rest of the year
Labor Day isn’t about celebrating work, it’s about appreciating the gains organized labor has made for working people.
Union employment has dropped off a cliff the last few decades, we won’t be celebrating it much longer.

I hate when you go to tie something down in a truck and the tie downs you have suck so they aren’t the right length and you have to awkwardly tie them to the hitch and then you do a terrible job anyway
