They require you to sign it to merge your code, and it signs away your copyright to the owner of the project, meaning they don’t have to ask you for permission to relicense it in the future.

Contributor License Agreement. They require you to sign it to merge your code, and it signs away your copyright to the owner of the project, meaning they don’t have to ask you for permission to relicense it in the future.
