mon dieu, le racisme inversé
I am in Morocco where French is the second language that everyone learns at school. There’s this cultural phenomenon where people tend to speak French to appear as if they are cultured or from a higher class. There are jokes about some wealthy neighborhoods where people speak French or use a weird mixture of Moroccan and French. There are stories of people trying to make a reservation at a restaurant and they are told everything is full but someone else gets a reservation when speaking French.
So there are many memes that develop about the snobbery of French speaking Moroccans. There’s also the political aspects of French language being introduced when Morocco was colonized by France. So some would ask “why are you speaking the colonizer’s language?” But I don’t agree with this because many of the great anticolonial writings by Moroccan writers was done in French, and many great authors and historians tend to also be Francophone.
I found a YouTube link in your comment. Here are links to the same video on alternative frontends that protect your privacy:
You just need the first sign and most of the French speakers won’t come in anyway.

I’m sorry, French comrades

Don’t worry :3
I’m a weird type of french person that won’t take any offense for that.
